Active Service Defined. For the purposes of this agreement active service under contract shall include all active full-time contracted teaching service and all time absent from duty under approved leave; provided however, active service under contract shall not include time absent from duty for long-term professional leave; extended maternity leave; voluntary military service; and adoptive or parental leave.

Active Service Defined. For the purposes of this Article 21 "active service" means paid work time for the Employer or an approved paid leave of absence. "Active service" does not include time when an employee is in receipt of benefits pursuant to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 or when an employee is receiving Long Term Disability Benefits. When an employee is receiving Short Term Disability Benefits, such time is considered to be "active service".

  • FTE Definition Effective September 1, 2017, part-time teacher FTE will be determined by the ratio of the teacher’s actual annual instructional time to the teacher instructional time of a full-time assignment in the teacher’s school. This FTE will be used to calculate the prorated portion of a teacher’s assignable time.
