Adoptive Leave. A. Adoptive leave (unpaid) shall be granted for up to a period of one (1) school year. Upon initial application of the adoption, the teacher shall notify the Director of his/her intent in writing to take adoptive leave (unpaid) setting out the beginning and ending dates when possible. The period of leave shall commence when the child is physically turned over to the parent-teacher. Upon adoption, the teacher is entitled to five (5) adoptive leave days, the use of up to ten (10) sick leave days and all accumulated personal leave days.
