This Agreement is entered into by and between the Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 512, Counties of Cook, Lake, Xxxx and XxXxxxx and the State of Illinois, hereinafter referred to as the “Board,” or the "College" and Xxxxxx College Adjunct Faculty Association, IEA-NEA, hereinafter referred to as “HCAFA,” as the exclusive collective bargaining representative for the bargaining unit employees defined as follows: Unit eligible “Adjunct Faculty” who are part-time instructional employees. Unit eligible “Adjunct Faculty Librarians and Counselors” hereinafter referred to as “Adjunct Librarians/Counselors.” This group includes the following classifications: Student Development Counselors, Athletic Academic Counselors, Learning Disability Specialists, and Librarians. Within this agreement it is understood that all references to “Adjunct Employees” will refer to unit eligible “Adjunct Faculty” and unit eligible “Adjunct Librarians/Counselors.”

Agreement and Definitions. The purpose of this Agreement is to set forth the rights of the parties and the rules concerning wages, hours of work and working conditions, which will apply between the parties. It is recognized by this Agreement to be the duty of the Company and the employees to co-operate fully so as to provide for the operation of the services of the Company in a manner which will further to the fullest extent possible, the safety, efficiency and profitability of the operation, and the continuation of employment under reasonable working conditions. The rules set forth herein will take precedence over any conflicting rules, policies or procedures developed by the Company. Where the provisions of this Agreement are at variance with the procedures and policies developed by the Company the collective agreement will take precedence. Should any part of this Agreement be rendered invalid by reason of legislation enacted by any Government in Canada, such invalidation of any part of the provisions of this Agreement will not invalidate the remaining portions thereof, and they will remain in full force and effect. The Company agrees to meet with the Union at headquarters level to discuss the impact of these changes. There will be no strikes or lockouts so long as the Agreement continues to be in effect pursuant to Article Duration and Renewal.
