Holiday Observance When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday.
Authorized Holidays The following and, in addition, any other days or holidays that may be designated by the Mayor or City Council, are paid holidays for employees under this contract: (2019-2020) September 2, November 28, December 24, December 25, January 1, January 20, July 4: (2020-2021) September 7, November 26, December 24, December 25, January 1, January 18, July 4: (2021-2022) September 6, November 25, December 24, December 25, January 1, January 17, July 4.

Observance of Holidays The Board of Trustees may establish calendars that observe holidays on dates other than those listed above, or as modified by current institutional practices.
Observance (a) When a holiday specified in Article 58, Section 1 falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be recognized as the holiday. When a holiday specified in Article 58, Section 1 falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be recognized as the holiday.

Religious Observance 32.01 The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate an employee who requests time off to fulfill his or her religious obligations.
Monday CASE II An employee should not work more than 16 hours and must take an 8 hour break before continuing work. Therefore, an employee called in at 7:00 p.m. Sunday could work until 11:00
Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day (December 25) Boxing Day (December 26) In addition to the above noted holidays, full-time employees will be eligible for two (2) floating holidays. The float holiday will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time prior to the end of the calendar year.
Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.
