Authorized Holiday Observance. If the holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday will be observed as the holiday. If the holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed as the holiday. If an authorized holiday or its observed equivalent falls on a day when an employee is not scheduled to work, the employee shall be allowed an alternate holiday off with pay during the pay period in which the holiday falls or on a mutually agreeable later date within the same calendar year. Selection of this alternate holiday will be subject to supervisory approval. 10.3.4.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Article, if an employee eligible for an alternate holiday performs work on the authorized holiday or observed equivalent, the employee shall not receive holiday premium payments for such work. However, if an employee eligible for an alternate holiday performs work on the alternate holiday, the employee shall receive applicable holiday premium payments for such work.

  • Payment for Working on a Holiday (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential and Cost of Living Adjustment, if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Monday morning The employee should not work more than 16 hours without an 8 hour break.

  • Sunday Employees at the Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8:29 p.m. Sunday.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President or Governor of this State as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared a holiday by the Governing Board under current Education Code or its successors shall be paid holidays for all employees in the bargaining unit. Holidays will coincide with the Academic Calendar for each year.
