Banking of Hours Worked on Paid Holidays. Employees may bank hours worked on Paid Holidays. Banked hours on Paid Holidays are accrued at the rate of 1.5 times in accordance with Article 6.04 In order to bank hours for Paid Holidays, the employee must notify management in writing no later than the Friday before the payday on which the Paid Holiday would appear. If notification is not received, then the employee will be paid as per Article 6.04.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Scheduling of Paid Holidays For the purposes of this Memorandum the statutory holidays outlined in Article 39.01 of the Collective Agreement are incorporated into the work schedules during off duty days. All such statutory holidays shall be identified and recorded in ink in the nursing staff work schedules on the basis of seven point two (7.2) paid hours. Every effort shall be made to spread the statutory holidays off evenly throughout the year.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.
