Beards. 42.1: Members of this Bargaining Unit will be permitted to wear beards subject to the following guidelines:
Beards. Neatly trimmed full beards or goatees will be permitted to be worn by officers and dispatchers on a year-round basis. Beards and goatees must be kept clean and neatly trimmed, and shall not exceed ¾ inch in length. Beards and goatees shall present a well-kept appearance at all times.

Shading must be commensurate with that individual’s natural color and shall be uniform in color with other facial hair. Xxxxxxx, designer beards, or “chin strap” beards, are strictly prohibited. The Chief(s)/designee reserve(s) the right to order officers to be clean-shaven based on safety protocols, events, and/or special assignment.

Beards. Beards shall not be worn. However, employees hired prior to July 1, 1993 will be allowed to grow or maintain a xxxxx as long as the xxxxx is neat, clean, and presentable. Any bargaining unit member hired on or after July 1, 1993 who have a medical condition which precludes shaving shall be required to present a written statement signed by a medical doctor verifying such a condition.
Beards. It is not the intent of the company to arbitrarily require employees to shave their beards . The xxxxx policy is intended to allow an employee to put on a respirator and get a good seal, thus receiving effective respiratory protection in a potentially toxic atmosphere . The company has and will continue to investigate new respirators and/or cartridges as they become available, provided they meet the company specifications, in an attempt to provide effective respiratory protection at this mill .
