Benefits for Laid Off Unit Members. A. A unit member who is laid off shall be entitled, along with his/her dependents, to continue enrollment in any health and welfare plan offered by the District, provided such arrangement is permitted by and agreeable under such plans which are in force at the time of the employee's termination. The District shall pay the necessary premiums for a period of one (1) month following the termination of the employee's services (the month of September). Thereafter, the unit member may choose to continue to pay the necessary premiums on a quarterly basis subject to requirements of the carrier. B. Unit members who are laid off may use up to five (5) paid personal necessity days in order to seek new employment opportunities. C. Unit members who are laid off and subsequently employed by the District as substitutes shall be called for such substitute duty on the basis of their seniority within the District at the time of layoff, the most senior being called first. Permanent unit members employed as substitutes during layoff shall be paid in accordance with Education Code Section 44956 and probationary unit members employed as substitutes during layoff shall be paid in accordance with Education Code Section 44957.

Benefits for Laid Off Unit Members. 11.2.1 The employee shall be provided up to three (3) days of paid leave for the purpose of attending verifiable interviews. Said leave shall require at least 24 hours advance notice to the Superintendent or designee unless the District waives this requirement. 11.2.2 A unit member who is laid off shall be entitled, along with his/her dependents, to continue enrollment in any health and welfare plan offered by the District to unit members. The employee shall continue to receive, at no cost to the employee, through September, the medical and health insurance benefits currently awarded to full-time certificated employees. Thereafter, the unit member may, if he/she chooses, continue to pay under COBRA.

Said leave shall require at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice to the superintendent, unless the District waives this requirement. (b) A unit member who is laid off shall be entitled, along with his/her dependents, to continue enrollment in any health and welfare plan offered by the District to unit members. The Employee shall continue to receive, at no cost to the Employee, through August, the medical and health insurance benefits currently awarded to full time certificated employees. Thereafter, the unit member may, if he/she chooses, continue to pay the necessary premiums on a monthly basis for up to one year unless he/she becomes employed elsewhere and has insurance provided by that employer.
Benefits for Laid Off Unit Members. 20.17.1. The District will allow three (3) days paid leave for any necessary interviews after: 20.17.1.1. Filing of final notice of layoff 20.17.1.2. Use of two (2) days personal leave 20.17.2. Laid off unit members may continue on the District’s health and welfare insurance programs at their own expense, provided this is acceptable to the District insurance carrier.
