Benefits/Seniority During Pregnancy Leave. During the period of pregnancy leave, the employee shall retain her full employment status, shall continue to accumulate seniority and the Board shall continue to pay its portion of existing benefit coverage for the duration of the leave as entitled under the BC Employment Standards Act, plus an additional period of time, up to the maximum entitlement allowed under the BC Employment Standards Act, if a medical certificate is provided. The Board shall also continue to remit payment to the Pension Plan on behalf of the employee if the employee elects to continue to pay her share of the cost.

  • Unpaid Leave - Affecting Seniority and Benefits ‌ Any employee granted unpaid leave of absence totalling up to twenty (20) working days in any year shall continue to accumulate seniority and all benefits and shall return to her/his former job and increment step.   • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.
