BEREAVEMENT AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 2001 An employee who is, or will be absent on bereavement/compassionate leave shall notify her supervisor at the earliest possible opportunity. 2002 Bereavement leave of up to four (4) working days without loss of pay shall be granted in the event of the death of a spouse, live-in partner, child, step-child, parent, step-parent, sibling, step-sibling, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in- law, son-in-law, former legal guardian, fiancé and any other relative who resides in the same household.
