Industry Allowance. (i) An all purpose allowance of (*) per week shall be paid as compensation for the following disabilities associated with on-site work:
(A) Climatic conditions when working in the open on all types of work
(B) The physical disadvantage of having to climb stairs or ladders
(C) The disability of dust and fumes blowing in the wind, brick dust and drippings from newly poured concrete
(D) Sloppy and muddy conditions associated with the initial stages of on-site construction work.
(E) The disability of working on all types of scaffolding, excluding swing scaffolding.
(F) The lack of usual permanent amenities associated with factory work.
Industry Allowance. An allowance to compensate for the following disabilities associated with construction work (as defined). • Climatic conditions when working in the open air on all types of work. • The physical disadvantage of having to climb stairs or ladders. • The disability of dust blowing in the wind, brick dust and drippings from newly-poured concrete. • Sloppy and muddy conditions associated with the initial stage of the erection of a building. • The disability of working on all types of scaffolds or ladders other than a swing scaffold, suspended scaffold, or a bosun’s chair. • The lack of the usual amenities associated with factory work (e.g. meal rooms, change room, lockers).
Industry Allowance. 11.1.1 An industry allowance of $14.95 per week for all purposes of the schedule shall be payable to employees working in the cement and concrete products industry, with the exception of employees working in factories whose sole purpose is the manufacture of tiles. In such factories the employees shall be paid an industry allowance of $9.80 per week for all purposes.
11.1.2 Lumpers of cement or concrete articles (in and out of tanks) 39 cents per hour in respect of such time actually spent in tanks containing water with a minimum payment as for four hours.
Industry Allowance. An employee will be paid an allowance per week to compensate for the disabilities associated with working in the Industry. This additional rate will not be regarded as part of the wage rate.
Industry Allowance. Field (Construction) Employees are entitled to an Industry allowance as set out in Schedule 3 - Table A of this Agreement. This is an all-purpose allowance and is included in the Inclusive Hourly Rate of Pay specified in Schedule 2.
Industry Allowance. Employees engaged on any construction or maintenance work shall receive an allowance at the rate of $38.75 per week or $7.53 per day in addition to the ordinary rate of pay. This allowance is in consideration of working in the open and thereby being subject to climatic conditions, i.e. dust and sand blowing in the wind, extremes of weather, concrete drippings, obnoxious odours, sloppy and muddy conditions, lack of usual amenities in the field compared with depot conditions and any other general disabilities associated with the Corporation’s conditions and any other general disabilities associated with the Corporations work not compensable by the payment of a disability allowance payable in accordance with the Agreement. This allowance shall form part of the rate of pay for all purposes and is incorporated in the schedule of rates of pay as listed in this clause.
Industry Allowance. Industry Allowance applies to employees at Bands 1 – 5 who are required to work under adverse working conditions, as defined below.
(a) Definition of adverse working conditions All adverse conditions associated with working outdoors and/or for moderately obnoxious, offensive or dirty working conditions, including:
(i) Climatic conditions when working in the open;
(ii) Climbing stairs or ladders;
(iii) Working in confined or cramped spaces;
(iv) Working in dusty, muddy or dirty conditions associated with construction or maintenance;
(v) Working with dirty materials such as asphalt, concrete, epoxy compounds, green or second-hand timber, insulation materials, grease, oil and other dirty building and construction materials;
(vi) Working at heights above 5 metres from the ground or other stable surface, including on temporary structures;
(vii) The lack of access to normal workplace amenities.
(b) Specific work groups where an Industry Allowance applies include:
(i) Open Space employees (ii) Children’s Crossings employees (iii) Home Maintenance and Bus Drivers
Industry Allowance. The industry allowance is only paid when specified duties are performed in addition to normal duties which includes but is not limited to eye tests; sight screening; glass repairs; resuscitation lectures; first aid classes; drug and alcohol testing; and hearing testing. This allowance is paid for on a per shift basis, including overtime shifts. For permanent employees this allowance is also paid on paid leave based on a projected roster basis. The allowance is increased in line with wage increases as outlined in the Agreement and will be:
(a) from 1 September 2022 the rate will increase by 4% to $41.53;
(b) from 1 September 2023 the rate will increase by 4% to $43.19; and
(c) from 1 September 2024 the rate will increase by 3% to $44.49.
Industry Allowance. (a) In recognition of agreed flexibilities and the absence of payments for dirty work and lone shifts, all full-time employees will be paid an Industry Allowance of $48.01 per Week (as at commencement of this Part of this Agreement) as an all purpose rate. Part-time employees are entitled to Industry Allowance on a pro-rata basis. Casual employees are not entitled to Industry Allowance.
(b) The Industry Allowance is included in the rates of pay set out in the Schedule to this Agreement.
(c) The Industry Allowance replaces the Dirty Work Allowance for employees in Production and Advanced Process Support Classifications.
Industry Allowance. 21.2.1 An allowance at the rate of $19.94 per week shall be paid in addition to the wages prescribed in Annexure 3. The allowance is to compensate for the following disabilities on construction and maintenance work, namely, being subject to:
21.2.2 The provisions shall not apply to employees generally employed for more than four hours in each day on work in, around or adjacent to any depot, headquarters, yard, workshop, hall, nursery, swimming pool or recreation centre, nor to cemetery employees, attendants at caravan parks and/or camping areas, or attendants at public conveniences.
21.2.3 Casual employees, part-time employees receiving less than adult rate and employees employed for less than a full week, shall receive such proportion of the industry allowance as equates with the proportion that their wage for ordinary hours that week bears to the adult rate for the work performed.
