CALLING OF OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. L15.1 (a) All Occasional Teachers must complete an Agreement to Teach Form (Appendix A) provided by the Board. The Agreement to Teach Form may be changed only with the mutual consent of the Union and the Board. These Forms will be forwarded to the Union as Occasional Teachers are placed in Long Term Occasional assignments or added to the Roster.

CALLING OF OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. 14.01 In the event there are no Occasional Teachers available on a certain day in a school year, the Board agrees to abide by The Education Act and its regulations in order to fill a day’s vacancies. Individuals are allowed to work as unqualified Occasional Teachers under the provisions of Regulations 298, if qualified Occasional Teachers are unavailable for assignments.
CALLING OF OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. In respect of the issues surrounding the calling of Occasional Teachers, the parties shall meet following the ratification of the new collective agreement, and no later than June 1, 2006, to discuss and mutually resolve these issues. The Board would like to establish an evaluation process specifically for Occasional Teachers. The parties agree to refer this issue to a joint committee. The committee shall be composed of three members of the Bargaining Unit and three members of the Board. Additional resources may be added to the Committee as required. The Committee shall commence its deliberations following the ratification of the Collective Agreement. The Committee will review existing Board evaluation practices for Occasional Teachers along with the evaluation policies of other school boards. Following the review the Committee will develop an evaluation policy specifically for Occasional Teachers teaching for the Keewatin-Xxxxxxxx District School Board. An implementation strategy shall also be developed. The Committee will make recommendations for implementation by the parties. The work of the Committee shall be completed no later than June, 2007.
