Cancellation by Resident. A resident may apply to cancel the RLA. Cancellations of the RLA are granted in only EXTREME circumstances of financial or medical emergency (including but not limited to loss of major financial support, death in the family, major medical diagnosis such as cancer, etc.). Financial emergency is NOT defined as residents who find less expensive housing off campus before their RLA expires and/or who create financial difficulties for themselves by signing a lease with an off-campus landlord etc. before their term of residency is completed under this RLA; they will not be considered for early release. Cancellation requests are granted at the sole non-grievable discretion of the Director of Residence Life and First Year Experience or designee. Cancellations are subject to rates solely determined by the University.
Cancellation by Resident. Resident may not move out of Resident's Room Space prior to the end of the Agreement period without obtaining an approved License Agreement Release and officially completing the Move-Out process as defined in Section VII (j). Resident may cancel his/her Agreement with no additional cancellation charges upon submission of supporting documentation evidencing one of the following occurrences during the Term: •Graduation; •Call to active military duty; •Marriage; •Birth of a Resident’s child; •Enrollment in a University-sponsored study abroad, internship, co-op or experiential learning program; or •Death of Resident.
Cancellation by Resident. Resident may not move out of Resident's Room Space prior to the end of the Agreement period without obtaining an approved License Agreement Release and officially completing the Move-Out process as defined in Section VII (j). Resident may cancel his/her Agreement with no additional cancellation charges upon submission of supporting documentation evidencing one of the following occurrences during the Term:
Cancellation by Resident. If you give us written notice that you wish to cancel this agreement, the following will apply: (a) if we receive notice on or before moving in, we will refund to you any Internet and CSP fee but the Bond Paid will be refunded by the tenancy services. o Per section 15. Cancellation by Resident i. Termination prior to the end of this contract will result in the following:
1. forfeiture of application fee and pre-payment
2. the obligation to pay the prorated portion of the contract
3. a cancellation fee, as determined by the cancellation fee schedule below. Housing and Residence Life does not prorate during the last two weeks of each semester. Failure to pay any cancellation fee charges promptly may result in enrollment being blocked, official records being held, and assessment of late fees.
ii. Resident may terminate this contract without a cancellation fee (the application fee is always non-refundable) under the following circumstances:
1. Cancelling their contract within 2 days (48 hours) of receipt of prepayment.
2. Cancelling their contract on or before June 1st, 2020.
3. The resident graduates from the university and vacates assigned space at the end of their last term.
4. The resident gets married during the contract term.
5. The resident has a documented academic commitment outside the Wichita area (student teaching, internship, etc.) that would make living on campus no longer possible.
6. The residents’ declared academic program is no longer offered by the university.
7. The resident is called up to active duty with the military.
Cancellation by Resident. 9.1 If you give us written notice that you wish to cancel this agreement, the following will apply:
(a) if we receive notice on or before 21st January 2021, we will refund to you any Activities Fee and Bond paid. You will remain liable for the Administration Fee; or
(b) if we receive notice on or after the Withdrawal Date or during the Term: subject to clause 9.2, you will remain liable for:
(A) the Administration Fee;
(B) the Activities Fee;
(C) all Accommodation Fee (for the full Term); and
(D) any prior breach of this agreement; you will forfeit the Bond to the Hall; and you must vacate the Hall by the date given in your notice.
9.2 If clause 9.1(b) applies, the Hall may, at its sole discretion, seek to secure a new resident to take up your Room. In such circumstances:
(a) the Hall will look to replace residents in the order in which they submit written leave applications;
(b) you must also pay us an administration fee of $500.00 to reflect the costs of securing a new resident; and
(c) you will be responsible for the Accommodation Fees up to the date that the new resident takes over your place in the Room. Please note that the occupation of your place in a Room by another resident does not necessarily mean that a replacement resident has been found.
Cancellation by Resident. If the student requests cancellation, ROOM AND BOARD FEES SHALL CONTINUE TO BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RESIDENT UNTIL A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT IS FOUND. The Admissions Office will assist residents in finding a suitable replacement but will not be held liable should a suitable replacement not be found. A non-resident referred to the Admissions Office in writing by the cancelling resident must meet the eligibility requirements for International House residency in order to be a replacement. If and when International House is not at full occupancy, any applicants generated by the Admissions Office will be prioritized first to vacancies. However, the Admissions Office will automatically approve cancellation and replace residents who have cancelled due to the following: • inability to get a United States visa; • withdrawal from the University or loss of affiliation; • graduation or program completion prior to theend of the contract period; • participation in a Study Abroad program; • change in marital status. Verifying documentation for the above considerations and payment of the applicable cancellation fee will be required before approval of the cancellation. Any cancellations by the resident that does not meet the above listed criteria will be reviewed on a case by case basis and the resident will remain responsible for all applicable room and board fees until a replacement is found and moves into International House. All requests for cancellation of the Room License and Board Contract MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE on the "Request for Cancellation" form. This form is available at the Admissions Office. Please note that if you decide to cancel your Academic Year contract and leave International House after December 23, 2019 and prior to February 14, 2020, you will be charged $30/night for the nights you stay or occupy the space after December 23. Spring 2020 daily rates apply after January 15, 2020.
Cancellation by Resident i. Termination prior to the end of this contract will result in the following:

ii. Resident may terminate this contract without a cancellation fee (the application fee is always non- refundable) under the following circumstances:
1. Cancelling their contract within 2 days (48 hours) of receipt of prepayment, without taking occupancy of a space.
a. If the resident has taken occupancy of a space within university housing facilities, the cancellation fee schedule will be applied.
2. Cancelling their contract on or before June 1, 2023.
3. The resident graduates from the university and vacates assigned space at the end of their last term.
4. The resident gets married during the contract term.
5. The resident has a documented academic commitment outside the Wichita area (student teaching, internship, etc.) that would make living on campus no longer possible.
6. The residents’ declared academic program is no longer offered by the university.
7. The resident is called up to active duty with the military.
8. Birth of a dependent child during the contract term.
Cancellation by Resident. If the Resident cancels the Agreement in writing:
1. Prior to moving in – Resident is charged a $1,000 cancellation fee.
2. After moving in (received keys) – Resident is charged a $1,000 cancellation fee and is responsible for the entire balance of the Agreement owing at time of cancellation.

5. The resident is called up to active duty with the military.
