Common use of Catastrophic Illness Clause in Contracts

Catastrophic Illness. A. Upon complete exhaustion of paid illness allowance, personal leave, and vacation provisions of this Agreement, a unit member with a minimum of one (1) year continuous employment may request from the Superintendent of Schools a catastrophic illness leave. The Superintendent shall convene a joint committee chaired by the Chief of Human Capital Initiatives to review the request. If the joint committee recommends and the Superintendent approves, a unit member may receive up to ninety-five (95) paid illness days.
