Check-off and remittance. The Employer agrees to the check-off of all union dues, fees and general assessments levied in accordance with the constitution and/or by-laws of the Union. Upon receiving such information from the Union, the Employer shall deduct such dues, fees and general assessments. This total amount shall be forwarded to the Union together with the amendments to the list of the employees from whom such deductions were made. Such deductions shall be remitted to the Union treasurer not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month.

The Union agrees to advise the Employer of the amounts of such Union dues and/or general assessments as may be determined from time to time by the Union. The Employer, upon receipt of such advice from the Union, shall thereupon deduct from the earnings of the Employees such dues, fees and general assessments and shall forward to the Union the total of such amounts deducted, together with amendments to the list of those Employees from whom such deductions were made; such deductions to be remitted to the Union Treasurer not later than the 15th day of the following month. Upon receipt of 30 days’ written notice from the Union, the Employer will thereafter remit such deductions to the Canadian Union of Public Employees National Office with a copy to the Local Union Treasurer not later than the 15th day of the following month.
