UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 7.01 It is agreed that all current and any new employees of the Company, will, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union in good standing, as provided in the Constitution and By-laws of the Union. All current employees who have not already done so will be required to sign an application for membership and authorization for dues check off and initiation fee. The application form will be supplied by the Union to the Company. The form will be signed and returned to the Union Chairperson within fourteen (14) days of the execution of this Agreement. In the case of a new employee, the form will be completed and forwarded within one week of the employee’s date of hire.
7.02 The Company will deduct monthly, from the gross wages of each employee, any dues, initiation fees or assessments levied in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws of the Union. The total amount to be deducted will be equivalent to the uniform, regular monthly dues of the Union. This amount will not be changed during the term of the Agreement, except in order to comply with a change in the Constitution and By-laws of the Union. The Union will provide to the Company written notice of the amount of regular monthly dues.
7.03 All dues, initiation fees and assessments deducted will be remitted to the Local Union Financial Secretary within thirty (30) days of the deductions, along with a statement listing each employees name and the amount of each deduction. A copy of this statement will also be provided to the Union Chairperson when requested.
7.04 The Company will also provide a list of those employees who did not have dues deducted and the reason why no deduction took place.
7.05 In any instance in which an error occurs in the amount of any deduction of dues from an employee's wages, the Company will adjust it directly with the employee. In the event of any mistake by the Company in the amount of its remittance to the Union, the Company will adjust the amount in a subsequent remittance.
7.06 The Company will include on an employees T4 slip, the total amount of dues paid for the year.
7.07 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Company harmless against any claim or liability arising out of the application of this Article except for any claim or liability arising out of an error committed by the Company.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 4.01 As a condition of employment, employees who have become employed after December 9, 1977 shall, within thirty (30) working days of commencement of employment, become members of the Union and shall not revoke such membership during the term of this contract.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 7.01 All Employees covered by this Agreement shall become members of the Union as a condition of employment. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Employees currently employed by the Board, who have previously opted out of membership in the Union, shall not be compelled to join.
7.02 The Board agrees to deduct Union dues monthly from the pay cheques of all Employees covered by this Agreement.
7.03 The Board shall remit the Union dues that have been deducted from the pay of the Employees to the Union by the first working day after the fifteenth (15th) calendar day in the following month. Where an accounting adjustment is necessary to correct an over or under payment of dues, it shall be effected in the succeeding month. The deductions remitted shall be accompanied by particulars identifying each Employee in electronic format showing the name of the Employee, address, phone number, starting date, Employee number, classification, the amount of dues deducted and the Employee’s basic monthly salary.
7.04 The Union shall advise the Board, in writing, of any change in the amount of dues to be deducted from the Employees covered by this Agreement. Such notice shall be communicated to the Board at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of the change.
7.05 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Agreement, no Employee shall be dismissed from the service of the Board by virtue solely of rejection of membership by the Union.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 6.01 All Teachers shall, as a condition of employment, maintain membership in the Branch or join the Branch within thirty (30) days after the signing of this Agreement and remain members in good standing. All new Teachers shall, as a condition of employment, join the Branch within thirty (30) days and remain members in good standing.
6.02 On each pay date when an employee receives a pay cheque, the Board shall deduct from each member, the O.S.S.T.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 5.01 On each pay date on which an occasional Teacher receives a salary advice, the Board shall deduct from each Occasional Teacher the union dues and other amounts chargeable by the Union or an equivalent amount. The amount shall be determined by the Union in accordance with its constitution and made in writing to the Board no later than November 30 for the following January and no later than June 30 for the following September.
5.02 The amount deducted in 5.01 shall be remitted to the Treasurer of the O.S.S.T.F. at 00 Xxxxxx Xxxxx no later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month in which the deductions were made. Such remittance shall be accompanied with a list identifying the Occasional Teachers, their S.I.N. numbers, the amounts deducted and the number of days worked. A copy of the list shall also be sent to the President of the Bargaining Unit.
5.03 The Board shall deduct from each occasional teacher pay cheque a local levy. The amount of the levy will be communicated to the Board in writing by the Union in June of each year for the upcoming year. The Board agrees to remit monies collected under the provision to the Treasurer of District 3 OSSTF on a monthly basis.
5.04 The Union shall indemnify and save the Board harmless from claims, suits, attachments and any form of liability as a result of such deductions authorized by the Union.
5.05 The Board agrees to provide every Occasional Teacher with a copy of the Collective Agreement in effect and to provide the name of the Branch President, the name of the District President and the office address on file with the Board. Each new Occasional Teacher will be provided with the above information at the time she/he is hired as well as any current information relative to this collective agreement.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 7.01 Employees must become Members of the Union as a condition of employment.
7.02 The Board will deduct the Union's regular monthly Membership Dues from the pay of each Employee.
7.03 The Board shall remit the dues to the Union by the first working day after the fifteenth (15th) calendar day in the following month. The remitted dues shall be accompanied by particulars identifying each Employee in a printed form and electronically showing the name of the Employee, last known address, the amount of Dues deducted, Job Family and Phase and starting date. Effective six (6) months following ratification of this Collective Agreement the particulars shall also include a listing of all Employees on an extended unpaid leave.
7.04 The Union shall advise the Board, in writing, of any change in the amount of the regular monthly Membership Dues to be deducted from the Employee’s pay. Such advice shall be communicated to the Board at least thirty (30) days before the effective date of the change.
7.05 No Employee shall be subject to dismissal from employment as a result of loss of Membership in the Union, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Agreement.
7.06 The Board shall provide the Local Secretary or a Designee with a monthly list of Regular, and Sessional Employees newly engaged to work during the previous month. Such list shall include each Employee's name, Job Family and Phase and Department.
7.07 Designees of the Local may brief new Employees on the operation of the Union following an Orientation Session held for these Employees by the Board.
7.08 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Board harmless against any claims or liability arising out of the application of this Article.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 4.01 All Employees covered by this Agreement shall be required to pay Union dues. The Employer shall, therefore, as a condition of employment, deduct the amount of the Union dues as set by the Union from time to time from the pay of all Employees covered by this Agreement.
4.02 The amount so deducted shall be remitted to the Union on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month, accompanied by a list of Employees and the amount deducted for each Employee. An information list detailing Employee name, Employee work e-mail, full home address, start date, home phone number, classification, salary and if the Employee is off on an approved leave of absence. Notification of changes shall be provided to the Union as they occur.
4.03 The Union shall advise the Employer in writing of any change in the amount of dues to be deducted from the Employees covered by this Agreement. Such notice shall be communicated in writing to the Employer at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of change.
4.04 The Employer will supply a list, upon request by the Chapter Chairperson or Membership Services Officer, of new Employees and their assigned Department.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 4.1 The Employer agrees that during the term of this agreement it is a condition of employment for:
(a) all present employees to become and remain members in good standing of the Union;
(b) all new employees hired subsequent to the date of signing of this Collective Agreement shall, within fifteen (15) calendar days of the completion of the probationary period, be required to become and remain a member in good standing of the Union; and
(c) all employees in the initial probationary period shall be required to pay Union dues.
4.2 The Employer will deduct from the pay of each employee covered by this agreement, whether or not the employee is a member of the Union, all Union dues and initiation fees. The Union agrees to supply the Employer with the necessary forms to be completed by the employee upon hiring.
4.3 Such deductions shall be remitted to the Union prior to the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month in which deductions were made along with the names of any additions or deletions to the Bargaining Unit.
4.4 The Union shall forward to the Employer a true extract of all Union minutes, with a letter of instruction authorizing deductions of dues from members, before dues will be deducted.
4.5 Should the Union change the formula for calculating union dues, the Union shall notify the Employer in writing thirty (30) working days before the change is to take effect.
4.6 The Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Employer from any liability arising from the deductions referred to in Article 4.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 5.01 All present employee’s, new hires and probationary employee’s, shall, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union for the term of this Agreement.
5.02 Dues are defined for the purpose of this clause as the regular Union dues and initiation fees as prescribed by the constitution of the Union.
(a) The Company will deduct from each pay cheque after an employee has worked at least forty (40) hours in any one (1) month, the regular monthly dues and remit monies to the financial secretary of CAW Local 1524, by the tenth (10th) of the month following the month in which dues are deducted.
(b) Initiation fees shall be deducted and remitted separately from dues to the financial secretary of CAW Local 1524 by the tenth (10th) of the month following the month in which the initiation fees are deducted.
(c) The Company will, at the time of making such remittance, supply a list of names of each employee from whose pay deductions have been made and the amount deducted for the month. Also, the names and status of any employee from whom the Company has made no dues deductions.
5.04 The Company agrees to supply the CAW Local Union and Plant Chairperson with a monthly alphabetical list of employee's names, seniority, addresses, phone numbers, and postal codes.
5.05 The Company agrees to include on an employee's T-4 slip for income tax purposes, the total Union dues paid for the year excluding any initiation fees.
5.06 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Company harmless against all claims or other forms of liability that might arise out of, or by reason of, deductions made or payments made in accordance with this collective agreement.
