Common use of Christmas and New Years Vacation Scheduling Clause in Contracts

Christmas and New Years Vacation Scheduling. The Employer may grant vacation during Christmas/New Year's period (December 201h to January 5th) to a maximum of three (3) employees in the entire bargaining unit, on a rotating seniority basis, subject to the following; (a) there are replacement staff who are available to fill in during this period. (b) Notice must be given to the employer of an employee's intention to exercise vacation time during the Christmas period at least six (6) month's in advance. (c) employee's requests to have vacation during the Christmas period shall be finally determined by the Employer given due consideration for the safe and efficient operation of the Home.
