Commencement of Participation. Every eligible Employee (other than non-salaried or such other Employees who, at the election of the Employer, are excluded from participation) shall commence participation in the Plan on the later of:
(1) The Employer's Commencement Date, or
(2) The first day of the month or calendar quarter (as designated by the Employer in the Adoption Agreement) coinciding with or next following his satisfaction of the eligibility requirements as specified in the Adoption Agreement. The date that participation commences shall be hereinafter referred to as his Enrollment Date. Notwithstanding the above, no Employee shall under any circumstances become a Member unless and until his enrollment application is filed with, and accepted by, the Plan Administrator. The Plan Administrator shall notify each Employee of his eligibility for membership in the Plan and shall furnish him with an enrollment application in order that he may elect to make or receive contributions on his behalf under Article III at the earliest possible date consonant with this Article. If an Employee fails to complete the enrollment form furnished to him, the Plan Administrator shall do so on his behalf. In the event the Plan Administrator processes the enrollment form on behalf of the Employee, the Employee shall be deemed to have elected not to make any contributions and/or elective deferrals under the Plan, if applicable.

(3) The earlier of either the first day of the Plan Year or the first day of the seventh month of the Plan Year coincident with or next following the satisfaction of the eligibility requirements specified in the Adoption Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, no Employee shall under any circumstances become a Member unless and until his enrollment application is filed with, and accepted by, the Plan Administrator. In the event a Member is no longer a member of an eligible class of employees and becomes ineligible to participate but has not incurred a break in service, such Employee will participate immediately upon returning to an eligible class of employees. If such Member incurs a break in service, eligibility will be determined under the break in service rules of the Plan. In the event an Employee who is not a member of an eligible class of employees becomes a member of an eligible class, such Employee will participate immediately if such Employee has satisfied the minimum age and service requirements and would have otherwise previously become a Member.
Commencement of Participation. The Employer shall promptly notify each Employee that satisfies the Plan's eligibility requirements set forth in the Adoption Agreement that he/she may take the necessary steps to commence participation in the Plan. If an Eligible Employee cannot be located or refuses to establish an XXX to receive contributions made to the Plan, the Employer may execute the necessary documents to establish an XXX on such Eligible Employee's behalf. An Eligible Employee shall commence participation in the Plan by establishing an XXX to receive contributions made to the Plan, notifying the Committee of the establishment of the XXX, and, if applicable, entering into a "salary reduction agreement" as described in Section 3.4 with the Employer.

An Outside Director shall commence participation in this Sub-Plan on the date elected or appointed as a Director (or, for Outside Directors on the effective date of this Sub-Plan, the date re- elected as a Director). A Director who is an Employee at election or appointment and who thereafter ceases to be an Employee (thereby becoming an Outside Director) shall commence participation in this Sub-Plan on the date the Director is next reelected or reappointed as a Director.
Commencement of Participation. (a) For purposes of Section 4, an Eligible Employee and a Non-Employee Director shall become an Active Participant upon making a deferral election for a Plan Year.
(b) For purposes of Section 5, an Eligible Employee shall become an Active Participant as of the date determined by the Committee (for officers) or the Company (for all other Eligible Employees). The Committee or Company, as applicable, may provide for a retroactive or prospective participation date.
Commencement of Participation. Any Employee may commence participation in the Plan on any Entry Date after the Employee’s Hire Date and shall be admitted to the Plan on any such Entry Date if the Plan Administrator receives the Employee’s written application for admission to the Plan.
