Commendations. 1. All written commendations initiated by City Management shall be placed in the employee’s permanent personnel file.
2. An employee may request that all commendations may be entered as a permanent part of an employee’s personnel file. Commendations may include such items as letters from the public, suggestion awards, educational or training honors, and civic club presentations.

Any OSES employee who observes a student engaged in this type of exceptional behavior can issue a Commendation. However, they will be entered on NSS Connect for parental viewing. As part of our PBIS initiative, students who demonstrate good behavior will have the opportunity to earn Eagle Cash! The more wings earned the greater or higher the student soars! Wings can be used to redeem prizes from the PBIS store. Students with zero disciplinary action each semester will receive special invitation to a school-wide activity to will celebrate their good choices.

Commendations. Two (2) days compensatory time off shall be granted to a police officer who has received a commendation from the Mayor of the City.

School – Wide Rewards A system of rewards to students who reach a documented level of behavior has been put in place to recognize those students for their achievement. Eligibility for participating in each of these rewards differs for each reward – some are based on receiving Commendations, others are based on good behavior. Some of the School-Wide Rewards will be, but are not limited to: Dress Down Days for Excellent Behavior – Dress down days are intended to reward students who have exhibited excellent behavior. Eligibility for participating in these Dress Down Days is based on receiving no disciplinary events during the previous quarter AND having not received an in-school suspension (ISS) or out- of-school suspension (OSS) during the school year. Students participating must follow the SSCS guidelines listed under the section Dress Code.
