CORRECTION OF DEFICIENCIES/IMPROVEMENT PLAN. A. Improvement Plans are developed in response to ineffective and/or developing ratings in performance and/or below expected levels of student growth, using three years of rolling data, when available. The Improvement Plan is intended to identify specific areas for improvement of performance and for identifying guidance and support needed to help the educator improve. In addition, a plan of improvement may be initiated at any time during the evaluation cycle by the evaluator based on deficiencies in performance as documented by evidence collected by the evaluator. When an improvement plan is initiated, the administrator identifies no more than two areas of concern to be addressed at one time.

The Improvement Plan is intended to identify specific areas for improvement of performance and for identifying guidance and support needed to help the educator improve. A plan of improvement may be initiated at any time during the evaluation cycle by the evaluator based on deficiencies in performance as documented by evidence collected by the evaluator. When an improvement plan is initiated, the administrator and educator should collaborate to identify areas of concern but should include: • Identify, in writing, the specific area(s) for improvement to be addressed in relationship to the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Professions; • Specify, in writing, the desired level of performance that is expected to improve and a reasonable period of time to correct the deficiencies; • Develop and implement a written plan for improvement that will be initiated immediately and includes resources and assistance available; • Determine additional education or professional development needed to improve in the identified area(s); • Gather evidence of progress or lack of progress.
