Covering Extra Shifts. 16.5.1. In this clause, an "extra shift" means a shift offered at a time being before the roster is published and for shifts in at least the second week of the roster to Employees that is to be worked in the next roster period. 16.5.2. Extra shifts for the next roster will be covered by crew who are qualified and current to work on the vessel. (a) A bidding system for all Employees will be introduced, up until one week prior to the extra shift and in line with published rosters. Fatigue management and overtime will always be considered as part of approval for the shift. Employees may bid to be rostered for extra shifts. The call will be via a bidding system amongst all Employees.
