Cross-Training for ECC. The City will provide Joint Dispatcher Certification incentive pay of $2200 per year for employees who have been working as an ETD for two years or more and who have successfully been certified as a Joint Police, Fire and EMS Communication Supervisor by the ECD. Effective July 1, 2022, this incentive pay will increase to $2,300. Effective July 1, 2023, the incentive pay will increase to $2,400. Certification will follow successful completion of a course of classroom training, self-study, on-the-job training, time spent performing the specific dispatch function under supervision and certification test process. An opportunity to enter the course of training will be offered to every qualified Communication Supervisor. However, because of the expense and time involved, only one (1) supervisor at a time can be accommodated in such a course of training and certification. This incentive pay will be paid weekly and included in the base. Candidates for training will be selected by the department, exercising reasonable discretion taking into account staffing needs, commitment, attendance and seniority. Selection for training shall be subject to grievance process through step 2, but not arbitrable.
