Selection for Training. (a) As required within a seniority block, training will be offered to employees in the following order: • Senior regular employee within the classification. • Senior regular employee within the classification series. • Senior auxiliary employee within the classification. • Senior auxiliary employee within the classification series.
(b) The senior employee may not be eligible for further training until all other employees within the classification series have been offered training. When a new type of equipment is introduced, the seniority process in (a) above will not necessarily take precedence over (b) in order to develop adequate levels of competent Operators in each Contract Area.
Selection for Training. As required within a seniority block, training will be offered to employees in the following order:
(a) senior employee within the classification;
(b) other employees as designated by the Employer.
Selection for Training. (b) When the Employer has met its obligation pursuant to Clause 12.11 above, the senior employee may not be eligible for further training until all other employees within the classification series have been offered training. However, when a new type of equipment is introduced the seniority process in (a) above will again apply.
(c) For production jobs outside the maintenance contract with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and specific to annual and preventive maintenance jobs (ditching/grading) management reserves the right to use certain individuals on the trackhoe, grader, and shouldering trailers after giving senior employees a reasonable opportunity to improve their skill to meet production needs.
Selection for Training.
(a) Once per calendar year between January 1st and January 31st, employees shall indicate, in writing, their requests for on-the-job training for the upcoming year.
(b) As required within a seniority block (or point of assembly for those Seniority Blocks with more than one point of assembly) training will be offered to employees, who have requested training, in the following order: ➢ senior regular employees in descending order of seniority within the classification series; ➢ senior temporary employees in descending order of seniority within the classification series.
(c) When the Employer has met its obligation pursuant to Article 30.1, the senior employee may not be eligible for further training until all other employees within the classification series have been offered training. However, when a new type of equipment is introduced the seniority process in (a) above will again apply.
(d) All individuals, who have requested training, and who are deemed to be pre-qualified by the Training Coordinator shall not be required to take any training and shall be given a letter of qualification.
Selection for Training. The Employer shall nominate employees for training and approve such nominations based on the employee’s position, or IDP, or other criteria.
Selection for Training. When training is required, the Employer will place a Notice of Training in the appropriate assembly point. This notice will indicate the pre-training criteria, and the job classification and equipment being offered for training. The Employer will assess the abilities of the employees within the appropriate classification series who indicate their interest for such training and will offer the training to the senior applicant who meets the pre-training criteria as determined by the Employer. The Joint Labour/Management Committee will determine the pre-training criteria.
Selection for Training. Candidates for any training program with the exception of on-the-job training, will be selected on the basis of merit and service seniority within a work group. In the case of employees who have unsuccessfully taken the same course in the preceding two (2) years, selection will be made on the basis of all other qualified candidates having first exercised their option for such training.
Selection for Training. When any training is required within a seniority block the Employer will place a Notice of Training on the appropriate union bulletin board. This notice will indicate pre-training criteria, and the job classification and equipment being offered for training. The Employer will offer the training to the applicants in the following order:
(a) Senior regular employee within the classification of training;
(b) Senior regular employee within the classification series of training;
(c) Senior auxiliary within the appropriate work group. Employees from other classification series may apply for training and the Employer will consider such applications. To be considered for training employees must respond in writing to a Notice of Training. Unless the Employer requires otherwise, or if the equipment is new to the Employer, an employee shall not be selected and trained on more than two types of equipment per calendar year.
Selection for Training. A. The parties recognize that the choice of subject matter, areas of training, selections, and assignment of training priorities, and the selection of Employees to be trained are responsibilities of the Employer, which the Employer will carry out in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and this agreement. The parties agree that job-related training and associated travel is a duty assignment.
B. Training nominations and selections will be carried out in accordance with equal employment opportunity guidelines and supportive of affirmative action goals. Selection for training shall be carried out in a fair and equitable manner based on the needs of the organization and its Employees.
C. The Employer will provide a basic training program for new CSC Employees, which normally will be completed within the Employee’s first year of service. This program will include an overview of the CSC mission, as well as job-related training necessary for Employees to carry out the minimum requirements of the job.
D. If training will lead directly to promotion opportunities, selection for such training shall be in accordance with the procedures contained in Article 12,
Selection for Training. Employees interested in being trained for any classifications shall advise the Employer. Where the Employer requires training for any classification, the senior employee who has expressed interest shall be trained.
