Database Administrator. The Database Administrator has duties and responsibilities as follows:
Database Administrator. A database administrator (DBA) is a person responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of an organization’s database. A DBA maintains database logins, maintains database security, monitors performance and performs database software patches/upgrades.

Alternate qualification: an advanced degree may be substituted for two years experience.

However, preference will be given to those who possess degree of BE/B‐Tech. - Must be Certified Database Administrator having working experience of Database Administrator on MS SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL and related tools. - Candidates should also have general understanding of storage technologies, memory management, NAS/SAN, Networking - The DBA should have experience of handling following activities: o backup of storage as per the policies of Govt. o Execution of on‐demand backups of volumes and files whenever required o Real‐time monitoring, log maintenance and reporting of backup status o Problem resolution in case of failures in the backup processes o Media management tasks‐ tagging, cross‐referencing, storing, logging, testing, and vaulting in fire proof cabinets o File and volume restoration o Coordination with maintenance agencies to handle situations like network choking, network viruses, hard disk crashes etc.

Database Administrator. Fully trained in Oracle RDBMS architecture and Oracle/PeopleSoft system maintenance tools and procedures including Data Designer, Data Mover, and Application Upgrader. Has at least 3 years experience in administration of Oracle RDBMS including at least one year administering Oracle/PeopleSoft database instances.
Database Administrator. Required for reviewing the out of box database creation scripts prior to install and potentially execute the database creation scripts. After installation, the DBA will perform regular database backups, apply database upgrades, and general DBA related tasks to maintain an efficient performing database.
