Common use of Designated Holiday Clause in Contracts

Designated Holiday. A. For employees normally working a Monday through Friday schedule: If a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be designated as the holiday. If a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be the holiday. B. For employees not working a Monday through Friday schedule: If a holiday falls on a regularly-scheduled day off, either the last preceding or the next following workday will be the holiday. Supervisors shall designate which day will be the holiday on an individual basis.
