Dispensing Medication. Employees designated to dispense medication in the absence of the nurse shall be made aware of the current policy and procedures, and shall be given training related to this responsibility.

Dispensing Medication. No unit member other than the health assistant shall be required to dispense medication.
Dispensing Medication. Employees are not required to administer medication to students unless they voluntarily agree to do so by signing a School Medication Authorization Form. All medication shall be administered according to the Board of Education policy. The Board shall indemnify and hold harmless from any liability, Employees who administer medication to students. This provision shall not apply to any bargaining unit positions for which medical related duties are a routine part of their job description.
Dispensing Medication. A. In the event a nurse is not present in the building, one employee per building will be assigned to dispense medication to students. Alternates may be assigned as needed.
Dispensing Medication. Employees will comply with the district policy on maintaining and dispensing of medication to students. The district will make reasonable efforts to have other school employees or trained volunteers to assist the school secretary in the dispensing of medication in the buildings.
Dispensing Medication. 1. The district may seek volunteers to assist students with medications. Parents, students and physicians will be discouraged from planning the medication of students at school, unless medically necessary.

Dispensing Medication. Employees who have completed a drug administration training program conducted by a licensed health professional are designated by the Board shall administer prescription drugs to students if directed to do so by their supervisor. No employee will be required to administer a drug to a student if the employee objects, on the basis of religious convictions, to administer the drug. The Board will hold harmless any employee who has completed a drug administration training program conducted by a licensed health professional and who has been designated by the Board to administer prescription drugs for administering or failing to administer a drug, unless the employee acts in a manner that constitutes gross negligence or wanton or reckless misconduct.
