Division Chief. If the grievant is not satisfied with the response received in Step 1, the grievant may pursue the matter by presenting the grievance to the proper Division-Chief within five (5) working days of receipt of the Step 1 answer. The division/chief shall respond in writing within five (5) working days following receipt of the grievance.

Division Chief. A. Within ten (10) business days from his/her receipt of the supervisor's written decision and using the returned original copy of the grievance form, the employee may appeal to the appropriate level of Management as previously indicated by the employee's Department Head. The Department Head has the authority to waive the middle Management level if such a level is not appropriate because of the size of his/her department.

The Division Chief (or his designee) shall schedule a meeting on the grievance within four (4) working days after presentation of the grievance to the Division Chief. The Division Chief (or his designee) shall respond in writing within five (5) working days following receipt of the grievance. If the Division Chief (or his designee) does not respond in writing within five (5) working days, then the Step 1 response shall also be considered to be the Step 2 response.
