EFFECT OF LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY ON OFFICER BENEFITS. 1. Time spent on an unpaid leave of absence of over thirty (30) calendar days will not be counted as time employed in determining an officer's eligibility for benefits that accrue on the basis of length of employment unless required by law.
