In addit ion to the subjects specified in Paragraph 54, abo ve, this training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing or who have speech impairments and to secure qualified interpret er services as quickly as possible when necessary. This training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing or who have speech impairments; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary; and to use, when appropriate, flash cards and pictographs (in conjunction with any other available means of communication that will augment the effectiveness of the communication). Such training shall be provided within one hundred-twenty (120) days of the effective date of this Agreement and annually thereafter.

The Hospital will provide mandatory in-service training to Hospital Personnel with patient responsibility who work in the Department of Psychiatry (or its equivalent, if any) or are members of the Social Work Department (or its equivalent). This training will include the following objectives; to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of Patients and Companions who are deaf or hard of hearing; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary; and to facilitate appropriate interaction between Patients who are deaf or hard of hearing and other Patients, when appropriate (e.g., group therapy sessions and other times when interaction with persons other than Hospital Personnel is encouraged). Such training must be provided after the date on which the Hospital is scheduled to join the SLI Service Program and annually thereafter. C. Other Key Personnel. Training will be given to the following Hospital Personnel not otherwise trained as provided above: all clinical directors and nursing supervisors; personnel who staff the Admission desk (or its equivalent for in-patient registration), the Central Registry desk (or its equivalent for out-patient registration), and the General Information desk; all triage nurses and other triage professionals; and all heads of each department in which communication with Patients occurs. D. Such training must be provided after the date on which the Hospital is scheduled to join the SLI Service Program and annually thereafter. E.

In addition to the subjects specified in Paragraph 55, above, this training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of Patients and Companions who are deaf or hard of hearing or who have speech impairments; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary; and to facilitate appropriate interaction between Patients who are deaf or hard of hearing or who have speech impairments and other Patients, when appropriate (e.g., group therapy sessions and other times when interaction with persons other than Hospital Personnel is encouraged). Such training shall be provided within one hundred twenty (120) days of the effective date of this Agreement and annually thereafter. 60.

This training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of Patients and Companions who are deaf or hard of hearing; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary. Such training must be provided prior to the date on which the Hospital is scheduled to implement the IS Plan and annually thereafter. 2.
Emergency Department Personnel. Within ninety (90) days of the effective date of this Agreement, and annually thereafter, the Hospital will provide special mandatory in-service training to Hospital Personnel with patient responsibility who work or volunteer in the Emergency Department to address the special needs of deaf and hard of hearing Patients and Companions utilizing that department, and to ensure compliance with this Agreement, including, without limitation, Section III.B.3, and where applicable, Section III.C.10. This training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of Patients and Companions who are deaf or hard of hearing; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary including training regarding how to operate any audio-video interpreting service equipment. Such training must be provided prior to the date on which the Hospital is scheduled to implement the IS Plan and annually thereafter. 2. Psychiatric Personnel and Social Workers. Within ninety (90) days of the effective date of this Agreement, and annually thereafter, the Hospital will provide specialized mandatory in-service training to Hospital Personnel with patient responsibility who work in the Department of Psychiatry (or its equivalent). This training will include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of Patients and Companions who are deaf or hard of hearing; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary, including training regarding how to operate any audio-video interpreting service equipment; and to facilitate appropriate interaction between Patients who are deaf or hard of hearing and other Patients, when appropriate (e.g., group therapy sessions and other times when interactions with persons other than Hospital Personnel is encouraged). 3.

Emergency Department Personnel. The Hospital shall ensure that mandatory in-service training 2 that addresses the special needs of deaf for hard of hearing Patients and Companions utilizing that department is provided to all Hospital Personnel with Patient responsibility who work or volunteer in the Emergency Department. This training shall include the following objectives: to promptly identify communication needs and preferences of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing; to secure qualified interpreter services as quickly as possible when necessary, including how to operate any video interpreting services equipment; to use, when appropriate, flash cards and pictographs (in conjunction with any other available means of communication that shall augment the effectiveness of the communication); and an explanation of all policies described and/or modified pursuant to this Settlement Agreement. The Hospital has provided this training since the time of the complaint referenced above in Section A.3 and shall ensure that such training is provided on an annual basis.
Emergency Department Personnel. Within sixty (60) days of the effective date of this Agreement, and annually thereafter, the Hospital will provide special mandatory in-service training to Hospital personnel with patient responsibility who work or volunteer in the Emergency Department to address the special needs of deaf and hard of hearing Patients and Companions utilizing that department, and to ensure compliance with this Agreement, including, without limitation, Sections III.B.3 (Time For Assessment) and III.B.4 (Individual Notice in Absence of Request), and, where applicable, Section III.C.4 (Provision of Interpreters in a Timely Manner). 1 For purposes of this Agreement, "in-service training" includes, without limitation, such means of training or familiarization of Hospital personnel as are customarily utilized by the Hospital, including, without limitation, written policies and procedures, videotapes, training materials, training sessions, seminars, conferences and the like. 2. Hospital Personnel with Patient Responsibility. Within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of this Agreement, and annually thereafter, the Hospital will provide specialized mandatory in-service training to Hospital personnel with or likely to have patient responsibility, including, without limitation, the following categories and their equivalents: nurses, nurses aides, therapists, social workers, and medical technicians. 3. Other Key Personnel. Within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of this Agreement, and annually thereafter, the Hospital will provide specialized mandatory in-service training to key personnel not otherwise trained as provided above, including: all clinical directors and nursing supervisors; all senior-level administrators; personnel who staff the Admission desk (or its equivalent for in-patient registration), the Central Registry desk (or its equivalent for out-patient registration), the General Information desk; all triage nurses and other triage professionals; administrative heads of each partment in which communication with Patients or their families and friends is likely to occur; desk clerks in units or departments where such individuals are likely to have communications with Patients or their families and friends; and personnel responsible for billing and insurance issues who routinely interact with Patients and Companions. 4.

Related to Emergency Department Personnel

  • DEPARTMENT'S REPRESENTATIVE The Contract Administrator shall be the Department's representative during the period of this Contract. He/she has authority to curtail services if necessary to ensure proper execution. He/she shall certify to the Department when payments under the Contract are due and the amounts to be paid. He/she shall make decisions on all claims of the Provider, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of the Department.

  • Emergency Management The plan shall also address the assumption of operations of the program or facility by Department in the event of Contractor's bankruptcy or financial insolvency or if Contractor is unable to operate the facility.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Department Liaison In performing the Services provided for in this Agreement, Contractor’s liaison with the [insert name of department] will be [insert name of contact person in department].

  • Emergency Manager An emergency manager appointed under the local government and school district fiscal accountability act, 2011 PA 4, MCL 141.1501 to 141.1531, may reject, modify, or terminate this collective bargaining agreement as provided in the local government and school district fiscal accountability act, 2011 PA 4, MCL 141.1501 to 141.1531.

  • Department’s Contract Manager The Department’s Contract Manager, who is primarily responsible for the Department’s oversight of the Contract, will be identified in a separate writing to the Contractor upon Contract signing in the following format: Department’s Contract Manager Name Department’s Name Department’s Physical Address Department’s Telephone # Department’s Email Address If the Department changes the Contract Manager, the Department will notify the Contractor. Such a change does not require an amendment to the Contract.

  • Health and Safety Representatives 58.1 The Employer and its Employees will comply with Part 7 of the OHS Act – Representation of Employees in relation to the establishment of designated work groups and the election of Health and Safety Representatives.

  • Emergency Childcare Employees may use vacation leave for childcare emergencies after the employee has exhausted all of their accrued compensatory time. Use of vacation leave and sick leave for emergency childcare is limited to a combined maximum of four (4) days per calendar year.

  • Fire Department Service Charge We will pay up to $500 for your liability assumed by contract or agreement for fire department charges incurred when the fire department is called to save or protect covered property from a Peril Insured Against. We do not cover fire department service charges if the property is located within the limits of the city, municipality or protection district furnishing the fire department response. This coverage is additional insurance. No deductible applies to this coverage.
