Employer's and Union's Grievances. The Employer may institute a grievance consisting of an allegation of a general misinterpretation or violation of this Agreement (by the Union or any employee covered by this Agreement), in writing, at Step Number 2 of the grievance procedure, by forwarding a written statement of said grievance to the CAW Union Representative, providing it is presented within ten (10) working days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have originated or occurred; the CAW Union Representative shall give his decision in writing within five (5) working days after receiving the written grievance and failing settlement, the grievance may be referred to Arbitration by the Employer in accordance with Step Number 3 of the grievance procedure.

Employer's and Union's Grievances. 11.01 It is agreed that a grievance arising directly between the Employer and the Union shall be originated as a policy grievance under Step No. 1 but shall involve the Employer and the Union Representative and the time limits set out with respect to that Step shall appropriately apply. It is understood and agreed that the provisions of this section may not be used with respect to a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees and that the regular grievance shall not thereby be bypassed.

  • Policy Grievances ‌ Where either party to this agreement disputes the general application, interpretation or alleged violation of an article of this agreement, the dispute shall be discussed initially with the Executive Director or designate or the President of the Union within 14 calendar days of the occurrence. Where no satisfactory agreement is reached, either party, within a further 14 calendar days, may submit the dispute to arbitration.

  • Association Grievances If a grievance affects a group of employees or the Association, the Association may initiate and submit such grievance to the Superintendent directly, and the processing of such grievance shall commence at Step 2. Grievances involving more than one supervisor and grievances involving the administrator above the building level may be filed by the Association at Step 2.

  • General Grievances ‌ Controversies may arise of a nature so general as to directly affect the majority of employees in a classification or department, or the majority of all employees. It is agreed that issues of this nature need not be subjected to the entire grievance procedure but may be initiated at Step 2. Attendance at Grievance Hearings initiated at Step 2 may include members of both negotiating committees.

  • Group Grievances No more than five (5) grievants will be permitted to attend grievance meetings.
