Common use of Extended Medical Leave Clause in Contracts

Extended Medical Leave. A medical leave of absence without pay may be granted to an employee covered by this Agreement because of non-occupational illness or injury in any of the following events: (A) following exhaustion of any and all sick pay benefits to which the employee may be entitled pursuant to this Agreement; or (B) immediately upon the occurrence of such illness or injury in the event the employee has no sick pay benefits accumulated at that time.
