External Referral and Sponsorship. Where CJS partners’ needs require an increase in a particular language/area, Applied Language Solutions will make use of external specialised training programmes in geographically determined areas of the United Kingdom. Where applicable, some external specialist training can and will be provided on-line. For either option, the company will sponsor in part, or in full, the course of work to be done by the interpreter as is the case currently. Sponsorship will principally be driven by customer demand and fluctuations in language populations in given areas over the course of the contract. Advisory services We make all of our linguists aware via our online forum, Interpreter Classroom, of public information and resources that might be applicable to them as self-employed individuals. This ensures that they feel supported by Applied Language Solutions and are not at a disadvantage while providing their services. Actively engage with linguists when improving processes We continually try to introduce new innovations/technologies in order to improve our processes. Where these proposed improvements will have an impact on our linguists we will seek to engage with a selection of linguists to get feedback from them on what will be beneficial and what might be perceived to be a barrier to working more effectively with us. This consultation process helps us to gain trust and loyalty from our linguists and is extremely valuable to us in terms of rolling out the best operational processes that will work in practice. A good example of this is our system of offering jobs to linguists by SMS text. This was developed in conjunction with our Interpreter Working Group and is faster and more efficient than the old system of just phoning all appropriate interpreters until one was able to take the job. Under the new system, interpreters can receive notification wherever they are and accept the job instantly. In conjunction with our latest geo-location software, the system of allocating assignments has become seamless, rapid and effective. We have also started eliminating time sheets from many assignments as the process is now largely automated and electronic. This saves on time, postage or fax costs etc, is more environmentally sound and allows assignments to be closed off more efficiently and accurately.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board agrees to implement the following:

  • External Review In the event of a final internal Adverse Benefit Determination, a Claimant may be entitled to an external review of the Claim. This request must be submitted in writing on an External Review Request form within 120 days of receipt of the Adverse Benefit Determination. The external reviewer will render a recommendation within 45 calendar days unless the request meets expedited criteria, in which case it will be resolved in no later than 72 hours. The external reviewer’s recommendation will be binding. The external reviewer will notify the Claimant of its decision in writing, and the Plan will take action as appropriate to comply with such recommendation.   • Traditional Medicine Cooperation 1. The aims of Traditional Medicine cooperation will be: (a) to build on existing agreements or arrangements already in place for Traditional Medicine cooperation; and (b) to promote information exchanges on Traditional Medicine between the Parties. 2. In pursuit of the objectives in Article 149 (Objectives), the Parties will encourage and facilitate, as appropriate, the following activities, including, but not limited to: (a) encouraging dialogue on Traditional Medicine policies and promotion of respective Traditional Medicine; (b) raising awareness of active effects of Traditional Medicine; (c) encouraging exchange of experience in conservation and restoration of Traditional Medicine; (d) encouraging exchange of experience on management, research and development for Traditional Medicine; (e) encouraging cooperation in the Traditional Medicine education field, mainly through training programs and means of communication; (f) having a consultation mechanism between the Parties' Traditional Medicine authorities; (g) encouraging cooperation in Traditional Medicine therapeutic services and products manufacturing; and (h) encouraging cooperation in research in the fields of Traditional Medicine in order to contribute in efficacy and safety assessments of natural resources and products used in health care.

  • Training and Professional Development C. Maintain written program procedures covering these six (6) core activities. All procedures shall be consistent with the requirements of this Contract.

  • The Publisher’s Responsibilities Subject always to the other provisions of this Clause below, the Publisher will undertake the production, publication and distribution of the Contribution and the Work in print and/or electronic form at its own expense and risk within a reasonable time after acceptance of the Work unless the Publisher is prevented from or delayed in doing so due to any circumstances beyond its reasonable control. The Publisher shall have the entire control of such production, publication and distribution determined in its sole discretion in relation to any and all editions and versions of the Contribution and the Work, including in respect of all the following matters: (a) distribution channels, including determination of markets; (b) determination of the range and functions of electronic formats and/or the number of print copies produced; (c) publication and distribution of the Contribution, the Work, or parts thereof as individual content elements, in accordance with market demand or other factors; (d) determination of layout and style as well as the standards for production; (e) setting or altering the list price, and allowing for deviations from the list price (if permitted under applicable jurisdiction); (f) promotion and marketing as the Publisher considers most appropriate. All rights, title and interest, including all intellectual property or related rights in the typography, design and/or look-and-feel of the Contribution shall remain the exclusive property of and are reserved to the Publisher. All illustrations and any other material or tangible or intangible property prepared at the expense of the Publisher including any marketing materials remain, as between the Parties, the exclusive property of the Publisher. The provisions of this subclause shall continue to apply notwithstanding any termination of, and/or any reversion of rights in the Contribution to the Author, under this Agreement. Without prejudice to the Publisher's termination and other rights hereunder including under the Clause "The Author's Responsibilities", it is agreed and acknowledged by the Parties that nothing in this Agreement shall constitute an undertaking on the part of the Publisher to publish the Contribution unless and until: (i) any and all issues in relation to the Work (including all necessary revisions, consents and permissions) raised by the Publisher have been resolved to the Publisher’s satisfaction, and (ii) the Publisher has given written notice of acceptance in writing of the final manuscript of the entire Work to the Editor. If following (i) and (ii) above the Publisher has not published the Contribution in any form within a reasonable period and the Author has given written notice to the Publisher requiring it to publish within a further reasonable period and the Publisher has failed to publish in any form, then the Author may terminate this Agreement by one month's written notice to the Publisher and all rights granted by the Author to the Publisher under this Agreement shall revert to the Author (subject to the provisions regarding any third party rights under any subsisting licence or sub-licence in accordance with the Clause "Termination"). The Author may also give such written notice requiring publication on the same terms as above if the Publisher has published the Contribution but subsequently ceases publishing the Contribution in all forms so that it is no longer available. This shall be the Author's sole right and remedy in relation to such non-publication and is subject always to the Author's continuing obligations hereunder including the Clause "Warranty".
