Faculty Appointment Procedure. 5.3.1 Department faculty and department head shall recommend long-term and short-term staffing priorities to their xxxx. When authorization for a full-time departmental position is given, the xxxx of the college shall provide the department head with specific staffing guidelines, including the classification of instructional programs (CIP) code for the appointment and including budgetary considerations. All full-time, appointments with academic rank, except for one-semester and one-year term, academic administrators and Board initiated faculty appointments, shall originate within a department in accordance with the bylaws.
