Food Services Summer Employment. Sign-up sheets for summer employment will be posted on the bulletin board in the kitchen at each location no later than May 1. Any employee interested in summer employment must place his/her name on the sign-up sheet no later than June 1, at which time the sheet will be sent by the manager/cashier to the office of School Food Services. The Xxxx Manager at the office of School Food Services shall be responsible for all summer school staffing in agreement with the Director of Food Services responsible for field services. In order to be eligible for summer school assignments, a Food Services employee may not have any formal discipline in his/her file from the current school year. Candidates who applied and are deemed ineligible for summer school positions will be notified in writing, with a copy sent to BENTE. Any disputes will be discussed at the regular Food Services Labor Relations meetings. The manager (cafeteria manager, xxxx manager, or cashier) at the kitchen where the summer school program is located will be guaranteed employment. If the manager at the location declines, then the position will be offered by seniority in the District within the title of the manager at the location. If more staff is needed, assignments will be made in order of seniority, regardless of title (xxxx, assistant cook, porter, food service helper) from the employees at the summer program location. If staff at the location declines, and/or additional staff is needed, then assignments will be made based upon seniority within the District, regardless of title. Assignments with the greatest number of hours shall be offered in order of seniority. It is understood that if enrollment declines at a summer school location, staffing and hours may need to be reduced. Food Service workers who are not selected for summer employment shall be placed on a rotating substitute list and called for work as it arises. It is incumbent upon the employee to provide a current working number and to be available when called. If the employee is unavailable, then the District will call the next employee on the list. Stock Handlers Effective July 1, 2017, all Stock Handlers at the Central Kitchen will become 12-month employees and may be required to perform additional duties as the operation dictates.
