Fractional Leaves. A. Fractional leaves (less than 100%) will be granted only to tenured Teaching Professionals, Resource Professionals and Academic Support Professionals, who have completed two consecutive years of full-time service at the University. Probationary Teaching Professionals and Resource Professionals may apply for a fractional leave after completion of three probationary years of service and for the purpose of meeting the educational requirements for tenure. B. In the case of fractional leaves of 25% or more granted for personal reasons to tenured Teaching Professionals or Resource Professionals who have not attained the rank of professor and Academic Support Professionals, who had previously completed two consecutive years of full-time service at the University, the time the person is employed during the period of the fractional leave will count proportionately toward years in rank or service. The percent of the fractional leave will be determined against the equivalent of nine months or more of annualized full time employment as a basis for one year of service for Teaching Professionals and Resource Professionals. The percent of the fractional leave will be determined by percent employment on a 12 month employment basis for Academic Support Professionals. Upon return from fractional leave status the Employee will be placed in the appropriate year in rank and/or will be credited with the appropriate years of service for promotion on a proportional basis as defined above. C. The time of actual employment during a fractional leave shall be counted proportionately for purposes of determining eligibility for sabbatical leave, educational leave, or retraining leave to the extent that such leaves apply to the Employee. The equivalent of nine months or more of full time employment in any year will count as one year of service. Upon return from leave status, the employee will be credited with the appropriate years of service.

Fractional Leaves. An Employee may request a fractional leave (less than 100 percent) without salary. A fractional leave is one in which the Employee is assigned a fraction of the full workload. Ordinarily fractional leaves shall be granted only to tenured faculty. Probationary faculty may apply for a fractional leave after completion of three probationary years of service and only for the purpose of meeting the educational requirements for tenure. The equivalent of eight months or more of full-time employment in any year shall count as one year of service. Upon return from leave status, the Employee shall be credited with the appropriate years of service.

  • Additional Leave Any further leave granted beyond the normal thirty-seven (37) week period, or the forty-two (42) week period for special circumstances, will be unpaid leave without benefits.

  • TERMINAL LEAVE Any employee who is separated from State service for any reason including layoff shall receive within seven (7) days a lump sum payment for the number of hours of accrued annual leave at the employee's annualized hourly rate of pay.

  • Casual Leave Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Annual Leave Loading During a period of annual leave an employee will receive a loading of 17.5 per cent calculated on the employee’s normal hourly rate of pay and the daily fares allowance if applicable. The loading will also apply to proportionate leave on lawful termination.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Sabbatical Leaves A. A sabbatical leave, without pay, for one year may be granted to a teacher, and/or 10 and/or 12 month support employee by the Board for full time credit graduate study/degree program in their appropriate field subject to Board approval and the following conditions: 1. Not more than four employees in the system may be granted sabbatical leaves at any one time. 2. Request for sabbatical leave must be received by the superintendent, in writing, no later than January 31st of the school year preceding the school year for which the leave is being requested. 3. The employee has completed at least seven (7) full school years of service in the Xxxxxxxx Township school district. No year shall be credited in which the employee has worked or been on paid leave less than ninety-three (93) days. If more than four requests (two for pay and two without pay) for such leave are submitted, the board will determine those eligible for such leave by the program the employee plans to take. If all candidates are in an approved program, then seniority shall determine the eligibility. The decision of the board shall not be arbitrable. 4. Two of the four sabbatical leaves sited in A.1 above may be with 1/2 pay if the employee is taking a full time Board approved graduate program/degree program in their appropriate field during the day or if they are fulfilling an on-campus requirement of an advanced program. Documentation of this requirement must be furnished with the request stated in A.2 above. B. All sabbatical leaves must be approved by the Board and the Board shall take action on same no later than March 31st of the school year preceding the school year for which the sabbatical leave is requested. The employee shall continue to receive paid health benefits during the sabbatical leave. C. Upon return from a sabbatical leave, which was granted for full time graduate/degree program, the employee shall be placed on the proper step of the salary guide at the level which he/she would have achieved had he/she remained actively employed in the school system during the period of his/her absence, and, in addition, shall receive proper credit for any advanced degree earned.
