Granting Paid Sick Leave. A secretary’s available paid sick leave shall be granted when requested by the secretary in increments of one-half hour (30 minutes) when: a. The secretary is disabled from safely performing the essential functions of the secretary’s regular job or any other job offered by the Employer which the secretary is otherwise qualified to perform, because of illness, injury, quarantine and/or pregnancy. Such leave shall be taken and exhausted concurrently with a leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. A secretary shall not be granted paid sick leave for minor personal ailments which would not affect the safety of the secretary or of other persons or of property, except when, the secretary is entitled to FMLA leave due to the “serious health condition” of the secretary. b. It is established to the satisfaction of the Employer or, if the Employer is not satisfied, a qualified physician selected by the Employer that a secretary has a medical necessity for physical therapy. Such therapy must be administered by a registered physical therapist. If at all possible the therapy will be scheduled outside the secretary’s scheduled work time or by using an Employer approved alternative work schedule or make-up work opportunities to cover the required time away from work. c. It is necessary for the secretary to go to a medical doctor or dentist appointment during the secretary’s work hours.

Granting Paid Sick Leave. A driver’s available paid sick leave who is non-probationary and has been awarded a bid route assignment shall be granted when requested by the driver in increments of two (2) hours for each bid route assignment missed to a maximum of four (4) bid route assignments per day and available paid sick leave for a non-probationary driver not awarded a bid route assignment shall be granted when requested by the driver in increments of two (2) hours to a maximum of four (4) hours per day when:

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave The normal cumulative sick leave allowance each year shall be ten (10) days for employees on thirty-eight (38) through forty-two (42) week assignments. Teachers on eleven (11) and twelve (12) month assignments shall receive one (1) day per month up to a maximum of twelve (12) days each year. A teacher shall be permitted to carry forward the unused portion of sick leave without limit. The balance of accumulated sick leave shall be printed on the teacher's bi-weekly statement of earnings.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use sick leave credits for family illness or injury only if the employee must provide direct care to an immediate family member. For purposes of family sick leave, “immediate family member” will mean the employee’s parent, spouse, or child, including step-child and xxxxxx child.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Vacations and Sick Leave The Executive shall be entitled to paid annual vacation leave in accordance with the policies as established from time to time by the Board of Directors, which shall in no event be less than four weeks per annum. The Executive shall also be entitled to an annual sick leave benefit as established by the Board for senior management employees of the Bank. The Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional compensation from the Bank for failure to take a vacation or sick leave, nor shall he be able to accumulate unused vacation or sick leave from one year to the next; provided, however, such Executive may carry forward from year to year a maximum of ten days of unused vacation leave.

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.
