Grievance Policy Sugarcreek Township and the IAFF recognize that in the interest of effective personnel management, a procedure is necessary whereby employees can be assured of a prompt, impartial and fair processing of their grievances. No reprisals shall be taken against any employee initiating or participating in the grievance procedure. The parties recognize and agree that informal resolution of perceived grievances should first be attempted, where reasonably possible, prior to the submission of a formal, written grievance. The Union and the Employer understand and agree that the filing of frivolous grievances can be disruptive of good labor-management relations and the Union affirms that it will discourage the filing of frivolous grievances. The Union and the Employer agree that they will attempt to discuss the validity of the grievance to determine whether a grievance is frivolous.

  • Grievance Policy The Board recognizes that in the interest of effective personnel management, a procedure is necessary whereby its employees can be assured of a prompt, impartial and fair hearing on their grievances. Such procedures shall be available to all employees and no reprisals of any kind shall be taken against any employee initiating or participating in the grievance procedure.

  • Violence Policies and Procedures The Employer agrees to have in place explicit policies and procedures to deal with violence. The policy will address the prevention of violence, the management of violent situations, provision of legal counsel and support to employees who have faced violence. The policies and procedures shall be part of the employee's health and safety policy and written copies shall be provided to each employee. Prior to implementing any changes to these policies, the employer agrees to consult with the Association.

  • Policy Grievances Where either party to this Agreement disputes the general application, interpretation or alleged violation of an article of this Agreement, the dispute shall be discussed initially with the Administrator, his/her designate or the Union within thirty (30) calendar days of the occurrence. Where no satisfactory agreement is reached, either party, within a further fourteen (14) calendar days, may submit the dispute to arbitration, as set out in Article 9 of this Agreement.

  • Grievance Investigations Where an employee has asked or is obliged to be represented by the Institute in relation to the presentation of a grievance and an employee acting on behalf of the Institute wishes to discuss the grievance with that employee, the employee and the representative of the employee will, where operational requirements permit, be given reasonable leave with pay for this purpose when the discussion takes place in the headquarters area of such employee and leave without pay when it takes place outside the headquarters area of such employee.

  • Group Grievance Where a number of employees have identical grievances and each employee would be entitled to grieve separately they may present a group grievance in writing signed by each employee who is grieving to the Administrator or her designate within ten (10) days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee(s). The grievance shall then be treated as being initiated at Step No. 1 and the applicable provisions of this Article shall then apply with respect to the processing of such grievance.

  • Group Grievances No more than five (5) grievants will be permitted to attend grievance meetings.
