HEAVY DUTY CLEANER. GENERAL DESCRIPTION A heavy duty cleaner is generally responsible for heavy cleaning work including the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces, the cleaning of all surfaces that must be reached by ladder or scaffolding and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin or compactor. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Dry mops, wet mops (wash/scrub and polish hard surface floors). The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment and the polishing is done with handheld or walk behind buffing machines. In large open applications automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions. • Strips and finishes hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required. • Transports garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor. The heavy duty cleaner will operate the compactor and will be responsible for cleaning the compactor at regular intervals. • Transports maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and jobsites. • Cleans glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach. • Cleans washroom floors including washing, stripping and finishing. • Cleans stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required. • Maintains and carries out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers and larger self propelled machines. • Washes walls, ceilings and dusts ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans at established intervals. • Uses pile lifting equipment to restore certain types of carpet. • Erects and dismantles scaffolding as required. • Shampoos broadloom and uses extracting equipment or clean broadloom. • Operates machinery such as pressure washers and ride on sweepers and scrubbers in particularly large open areas. • Cleans and changes fluorescent and incandescent lights. • Restocks all centrally-dispensing soap systems. • Dust mops over twenty-four inches (24”). • Dust mops over twenty (20) ounces.

  • Light Duty Where the injured employee's treating physician authorized by the County recommends light-duty assignment, it will be the responsibility of the appointing authority to arrange suitable light duty. Department of Human Resources may provide staff technical assistance to find a suitable light-duty assignment, one which accommodates the particular restrictions provided by the treating physician.

  • Civil Duty Leave Leave of absence with pay shall be granted employees to serve on jury duty, as trial witnesses or to exercise other subpoenaed civil duties.

  • JURY DUTY PAY All employees required to serve on jury duty shall be paid by the School District the difference between their regular pay and jury duty pay. In implementing this section, the School District shall continue to pay the employee the regular rate of pay and the employee shall be obligated upon receipt of the jury duty pay from the governmental agency to immediately remit any witness fees received to the School District less any mileage expenses. Absences under this section shall not be deducted from accumulated leave.

  • Transit Traffic The following rates will apply:

  • Hazardous Duty Pay Employees who have consented and are required to perform asbestos work will continue to be eligible for a 50% work differential for time spent performing such duties. This differential shall be paid 1/10 hour increments, including time spent by the employee changing into and removing program specified clothing and equipment. Maryland Port employees who are currently covered under the $ 10.00 per hour, or 50% per hour of the hourly wage whichever is greater, chrome pay differential, will continue to receive differential. This provision will also cover any existing hazardous duty differential currently provided.

  • Emergency Duty 41.1 Where an employee is called on duty to meet an emergency at a time when the employee would not ordinarily have been on duty, and no notice of such call was given to the employee prior to ceasing ordinary duty, the employee will be paid for such emergency duty at the rate of double time.

  • Extra Duty Pay A years experience shall mean extra-duty activity. Credit for up to two (2) years.   • Court Duty Leave Any teacher who is called for jury duty or is a subpoenaed court witness shall receive a leave of absence to fulfill his/her civil obligation. The teacher will be paid the difference between his/her full pay as a teacher and compensation for jury duty or as a witness. Evidence of both services and remuneration is to be provided by the teacher. Court duty leave does not apply to employees who have a need to appear in court for personal matters or because of litigation against the school corporation.

  • Civic Duty Leave A. Employees summoned for jury duty will be granted a leave of absence with pay for time lost from their regular work schedule while on said jury duty upon presentation of the appropriate summons to the department head by the employee.

  • Luggage (i) Tour participants are entitled to one suitcase per person. Your suitcase must not exceed 76 x 53 x 28cms (30’’ x 21’’x 11’’) and must not weigh more than 23kg (50lbs).
