Holiday Leave. 16.1 Each Employee shall be credited with 96 hours of holiday leave time in a holiday leave bank, on January 1 of each year in lieu of holidays. 16.2 Requests for use of holiday leave time shall be made in writing by the Employee and in accordance with the leave section of this Article. The Employer reserves the sole right to grant holiday leave time. 16.3 Holiday leave time shall not accumulate from year to year. Up to 88 hours of holiday leave time that is remaining in the Employee's holiday leave bank on December 31 shall be cashed-out at the Employee's current base pay rate. Double time payment under this paragraph shall be limited to the greater of 10 hours or actual hours worked. 16.9 If relevant Minnesota statute, currently Minn. Stat. § 645.44, Subd. 5, is amended during the duration of this agreement to include Juneteenth, June 19; holiday leave hours as referenced in paragraphs 16.1 and 16.3 of this agreement shall be increased by 8 hours to reflect such holiday if applicable in the calendar year, and paragraph 16.5 of this agreement shall be amended to include Juneteenth if applicable in the calendar year.

Holiday Leave. 16.1 Each Employee Holiday leave is provided by the City to allow employees the opportunity to celebrate recognized holidays. An employee celebrating a City-recognized holiday will not be permitted to use any City-provided leave time other than holiday leave. Except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement, each employee shall use holiday leave on City- recognized holidays. Holiday leave shall be earned as holidays occur, shall be used in the fiscal year it is earned, and shall not be carried over to the following fiscal year. Employees shall receive the following days of paid holiday leave each year for a total of 104 holiday hours per year: • New Year's Day (10 hours earned) • Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.'s Birthday (10 hours earned) • Presidents Day (10 hours earned) • Memorial Day (10 hours earned) • Independence Day (10 hours earned) • Labor Day (10 hours earned) • Veterans Day (10 hours earned) • Thanksgiving Day (10 hours earned) • Christmas Eve Day (10/4 hours earned—one-half of the department heads will receive the full day off, the other half of the department heads will receive 4 hours off, as determined by the City Manager) • Christmas Day (10 hours earned) • New Year's Eve Day (10/4 hours earned—one-half of the department heads will receive the full day off [those who received 4 hours off on Christmas Eve Day], the other half of the department heads will receive 4 hours off, as determined by the City Manager) In the event any of these holidays fall on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered as the holiday. If a scheduled holiday should fall on a Friday or Saturday, the preceding Thursday shall be considered as the holiday, or applicable hours shall be credited with 96 hours of to employees' holiday leave time in a holiday leave bank, on January 1 of each year in lieu of holidays. 16.2 Requests for use of holiday leave time shall be made in writing by the Employee and in accordance with the leave section of this Articlebanks. Holiday Leave. 16.1 Each Employee Effective December 1, 2010, the provisions of the Oakland County Merit System in the Oakland County Employee’s handbook concerning holidays, holiday pay, premium pay on holidays, and overtime on holidays, shall be credited not apply to Youth Specialist I and II, First Cooks, Second Cooks, and General Staff Nurses with 96 hours respect to President’s Day and Veteran’s Day. Effective the first pay period following December 1 of each year, bargaining unit members shall receive three (3) days of holiday leave. Employees hired after December 1 shall receive one (1) day of holiday leave time in a every four (4) months based on the following schedule: December 1 - March 31 = 3 days of holiday leave bankApril 1 - July 31 = 2 days of holiday leave August 1 - November 30 = 1 day of holiday leave EXAMPLE: An employee hired on May 1 would receive two (2) days of holiday leave for that annual period. Employees separating from County service or leaving the bargaining unit for other reasons shall be entitled to have their holiday leave, or part thereof, paid off between their date of separation or leaving the bargaining unit and the prior December 1 based on January the following schedule: December 1 - March 31 = 1 day of each year holiday leave April 1 - July 31 = 2 days of holiday leave August 1 - November 30 = 3 days of holiday leave EXAMPLE: An employee separating or leaving the bargaining unit February 1 would be entitled to be paid off for one (1) day of holiday leave for that annual period. Should an employee have used more holiday leave at the time of separation or leaving the bargaining unit than they would be entitled in lieu accordance with the above formulas, the employer will subtract from the employee’s annual leave bank the number of holidays. 16.2 Requests days used in excess of those earned. Employees separated from county service or leaving the bargaining unit shall be paid for their unused accumulation of Holiday Leave at the salary rate the employee is being paid on his or her last day of actual work in the bargaining unit. This payment shall be at the employees straight time rate. Scheduling and use of holiday leave time shall be made subject to the following restrictions: (1) Holiday leave shall be used and scheduled in writing by the Employee and in accordance with the leave section of this Article. The Employer reserves the sole right to grant holiday leave time. 16.3 Holiday leave time shall not accumulate from year to year. Stat. § 645.44, Subd. 5, is amended during the duration of this agreement to include Juneteenth, June 19; holiday leave hours as referenced in paragraphs 16.1 and 16.3 of this agreement shall be increased by 8 hours to reflect such holiday if applicable in the calendar year, and paragraph 16.5 of this agreement shall be amended to include Juneteenth if applicable in the calendar year.

Holiday Leave. 16.1 Each Employee Holiday leave is provided by the City to allow employees the opportunity to celebrate recognized holidays. An employee celebrating a City-recognized holiday will not be permitted to use any City-provided leave time other than holiday leave.
