Medical Insurance (Retirees). A. Eligibility to participate under the terms of this section is not provided for those employees retiring under a disability pension, except as required by COBRA (also see Section 7.02. COBRA). B. The City’s contribution/reimbursement limit for a retiree’s medical insurance is defined by the City’s contribution/reimbursement limit in effect on the date of retirement, as established by the Agreement in place at the time of the employee’s retirement. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement, at no time shall the City’s contribution/reimbursement toward retiree medical exceed the retiree-medical contribution/reimbursement cap in place in the Agreement in effect at the time of employee’s retirement.

For the employee attaining the age of 50 with a minimum of 25 consecutive years of full-time service to the City (consecutive years of service defined to include all approved leave time), who otherwise qualifies for and receives a normal service retirement pursuant to the provisions of this MOU and any guiding procedures, rules, and regulations established by CalPERS, the City makes available the opportunity to continue comprehensive health benefits under the City’s group plans and group rates upon retirement. Failure by the retiree and/or dependent (spouse/qualified domestic partner) to maintain his/her portion of premium payments/contributions for City-provided medical, dental, and/or optical insurance plans, or failure to maintain active enrollment in City-provided dental and/or optical insurance plans shall disqualify the retired employee and/or his/her dependent from eligibility to participate in, or receive this benefit. The City contribution is for retiree-only or retiree-and-dependent medical insurance as allowed under this section. The City does not contribute to dental and/or optical insurance plans for the retiree and/or dependent. The City will provide to the members of the bargaining unit who retired on or before August 31, 1986, the Blue Cross-Blue Shield insurance or HMO Plan under which they were covered at the time of their retirement. If such insurance or HMO Plan is or becomes no longer available, the City may substitute equivalent insurance coverage of its choosing. The city may offer to retirees, as an option during open enrollment, medical insurance coverage plans that are available to active employees. The retiree shall be responsible for any cost differential between his/her applicable base plan and his/her chosen plan, through payroll deduction as applicable. This election shall be at the sole discretion of the retiree. 2. For purposes of the above paragraph, a member shall be deemed "retired" as of the date he or she receives retirement benefits or a deferred retirement allowance under Chapter 26 of the Ordinances of the City of Lansing.

Medical Insurance (Retirees). Retiree medical benefits will be provided to eligible employees who retire from the City of Larkspur as provided below. For a current employee (hired before 9/1/08) who retires from the City of Larkspur (City), has completed 10 or more years of service with the City, and is collecting a PERS retirement benefit, the City will pay for the cost of Xxxxxx medical coverage for the employee. For a current employee (hired before 9/1/08) who retires from the City, has completed 15 or more years of service with City, and is collecting a PERS retirement benefit, the City will pay for the cost of Xxxxxx medical coverage for the employee and his/her spouse. To be eligible, the spousal relationship must have been documented with the City for at least 1 year before the employee retires from the City. For an employee hired after 9/1/08 who retires from the City, has completed 10 years of service with the City, and is collecting a PERS retirement benefit, the City will pay for the cost of Kaiser medical coverage for the employee only. Employees who do not qualify for City paid medical in retirement, as well as eligible dependents of retirees, are allowed access through the City, into the PERS medical plan after retirement, in accordance with the rules established by PERS. Such premiums will be paid for at the retiree’s expense.

  • Retiree Medical Insurance Retiree insurance coverage is included within each medical plan for all retirees under the age of 65 years, through self-payment. The Employer shall make available an appropriate medical plan for all eligible retirees ages 65 years or older.

  • Medical Insurance The Company shall provide to Executive, Executive's spouse and children, at its sole cost, such health, dental and optical insurance as the Company may from time to time make available to its other executive employees.

  • Basic Medical Insurance All regular Employees may choose to be covered by the medical plan for which the British Columbia Medical Plan is the licensed carrier. Benefits and premiums shall be in accordance with the existing policy of the plan. The Employer will pay one hundred percent (100%) of the regular premium.

  • Optical Insurance 1. The Board shall provide Group I employees a vision plan comparable to the VSP 3 plan. 2. The Board shall provide Group II employees a vision plan comparable to the VSP 1 plan.

  • Retiree Insurance Retired employees and their dependents shall be entitled to continued coverage under the district sponsored group health insurance program, provided the retired employee makes written application with the clerk of the board of education for such continued coverage within thirty (30) days following the retirement of the employee. Retired employees electing continued coverage shall be required to make the monthly premium payment for such continued coverage in advance of the due date of the premium to the carrier. The premium amount will be determined by the carrier. Such payment shall be made to the Board of Education or directly to the insurance carrier, as may be determined by the board. The coverage under the group health-care benefits will cease at such time as (1) the retired employee attains eligibility for Medicare, (2) the retired employee fails to make the required premium payments on a timely basis, or (3) the retired employee becomes covered or is eligible to be covered under a group plan of another employer. For purposes of this provision, retired means those employees who have terminated employment and are receiving a retirement or disability benefit from K.P.E.R.S.

  • Retiree Health Insurance Retired members of the Department receiving, or to receive City of Lincoln monthly pension checks, may participate in the group comprehensive health care plan for active City employees, provided that each retiree so desiring will execute the required forms in a timely fashion, and further provided that each retiree will be required to pay the full monthly cost at the current rates subject to any rate increases which may occur from time to time. Such payment will be made by payroll deduction from pension checks, or by direct payment in the case of an early retiree.

  • Key Person Life Insurance The Company will maintain key person life insurance in an amount not less than $1,200,000 on the life of E. Xxxxxxx Xxxxx and pay the annual premiums therefor naming the Company as the sole beneficiary thereof for at least three years following the Effective Date.
