Common use of Holiday on Regular Day Off Clause in Contracts

Holiday on Regular Day Off. 9.4.1 In the event that a designated holiday falls upon a normal day off which is either a Saturday, as to a unit member who works a Monday through Friday workweek, or the first day off of his/her normal two days off, as to a unit member whose workweek is one other than Monday through Friday, then in either such event such unit member, as the case may be, shall thereafter receive one (1) additional day of vacation therefor; and each such unit member who is required to work on such Saturday or first day off shall, in addition, receive compensation therefor at the rate of time and one-half of his/her regular base rate of pay. 9.4.2 In the event that a designated holiday falls upon a normal day off which is either a Sunday, as to a unit member who works a Monday through Friday workweek, or the second day off of his/her normal two (2) days off, as to a unit member whose workweek is one other than Monday through Friday, then in either such event such unit member, as the case may be, shall receive the next following day off therefore; and each such unit member who is required to work on such Sunday or second day off shall, in addition, receive compensation therefore at the rate of time and one-half of his/her regular base rate of pay.
