Illness, self isolation: If you do not feel well or if you have COVID-19 symptoms, are concerned that you do have symptoms, or are concerned that you have been exposed to COVID-19, visit the Ottawa Public Health website for information about symptoms and self-isolation, and complete the self-assessment tool, seek medical attention, and notify HS (613-668-9604). If you have received a positive test result for COVID-19, you must immediately contact HS at 000-000-0000. If you are self-isolating, you must comply with the self-isolation protocols. These protocols include, but are not limited to: getting tested when recommended to do so by public health officials; reporting test results to HS; disclosing to Ottawa Public Health that you live in a university residence (for contact tracing purposes); and moving to an isolation unit should it be deemed necessary by HS. HS will provide you with face masks and will arrange to have three meals a day delivered to you during your self-isolation period.

  • Family Illness Leave An employee will be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for family illness. Additional family illness leave may be granted by the employer.

  • Disability Leave a. An employee who has suffered possible injury in the performance of assigned duties shall immediately undergo such medical examination as the appointing authority deems necessary. He/she shall not be considered absent from duty during the time required for such examination.

  • Extended Illness Leave 1. Extended Illness Leave, hereinafter referred to as “EIL” shall be established for Administrative Support Group, XXXX, Clerical, and Educational Assistant personnel who are absent due to their own personal illness or injury following the exhaustion of their accumulated illness, vacation and annual allotment of short term leave. Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Religious Leave Religious leave shall be without pay unless the employee elects to use accumulated compensatory time off, vacation time, or floating holiday time. Denial of religious leave is appealable as provided elsewhere in this section.
