INCLEMENT WEATHER/EMERGENCY CLOSING. In the event of bad weather, every effort is made to keep the College open. Borderline decisions are resolved in favor of holding classes. When classes are cancelled for safety reasons, the entire campus will be closed. When the College is closed due to an emergency or inclement weather, the Board shall pay employees for the period of time the College is closed. Any employee required to work on such day(s), who cannot get to work, shall suffer no loss of pay or benefits. Any such employee who does work shall receive the option of overtime pay or compensatory time off. Approval by the immediate supervisor is required for anyone working on campus during said times.

INCLEMENT WEATHER/EMERGENCY CLOSING. In the event of a declared emergency, every effort is made to keep the College open. Borderline decisions are resolved in favor of holding classes. When the College is closed due to a declared emergency or inclement weather, the Board shall pay employees for the period of time the College is closed. Any employee required to work during a declared emergency, who cannot get to work, shall suffer no loss of pay or benefits. Any such employee who works during the hours of the declared emergency shall receive overtime pay or compensatory time off at the rate of one and one-half times their hourly rate for all hours worked during the declared emergency. Employees shall be required to seek prior approval by his or her immediate supervisor prior to performing any such duties during the declared emergency.

  • Inclement Weather 24.1 This Inclement Weather clause sets out the full rights, obligations and entitlements of the parties and establishes the conditions under which payment for periods of inclement weather shall be made. 24.2 This Inclement Weather clause is to be read and observed in lieu of the provisions of the award and VBIA. 24.3 Definition – inclement weather Inclement weather shall mean the existence of rain or abnormal climatic conditions (whether they be those of hail, snow, cold, high wind, severe dust storm, extreme high temperature or the like or any combination thereof) by virtue of which it is either not reasonable or not safe for employees exposed thereto to continue working whilst the same prevail.

  • Emergency Closure Where there is a temporary closure as a result of an immediate emergency or a planned temporary closure due to renovations, repairs, or moves, the Employer will: a) First offer to the affected employees the choice of taking either a vacation day or an unpaid leave of absence with no loss of seniority or benefits; thereafter, at the Employer's discretion, one of the following: b) Reassign staff to another location; c) Reschedule the lost hours within two (2) pay periods; or d) Decide not to do either (b) or (c), in which case employees shall still be paid for their regularly scheduled hours which they did not work as a result of the temporary layoff.

  • Emergency Closing 1. Management shall decide when, if and to what extent State facilities shall remain open or closed during emergencies, such as adverse weather conditions, acts of God, equipment breakdown, inoperable bathroom facilities, extreme office temperatures, etc. 2. The State shall designate one (1) person in each district area who will be responsible to call the Secretary of Administration or his/her designee if office, weather or other conditions exist which suggest closing is appropriate. 3. In facilities that must remain in operation despite emergency conditions, continued operations with a reduced work force may be authorized. In such instances, employees who are authorized to leave work early may do so without loss of pay or benefits. Employees who are required to remain at work shall receive compensatory time at straight time rates. 4. An employee who is unable to report to work due to weather or other emergency conditions shall have the absence charged against accumulated compensatory time or annual leave, in that order. 5. If management authorizes the complete closing of a State office or facility for emergency reasons, employees who leave the workplace shall receive their regular pay for time they are out of the closed office. 6. Employees required by management to work during complete emergency closings under (5) above, shall receive hourly pay at straight time rates for the hours so worked. This payment will be in addition to the employee’s regular pay.

  • Emergency Closings In the event a student day or teacher duty day is lost because of an emergency closing, the teacher shall perform duties on that day (unless hazardous conditions prohibit) or other such day in lieu thereof as the School Board or its designated representative shall determine, if any.

  • Emergency Calls IP Phones need an additional power supply to operate. In the event of a power failure it is your responsibility to ensure you have the means to make emergency calls.   • Weather User understands and agrees that during the term of this agreement, User will strictly adhere to the Weather Protocols set forth in the Grand Park Emergency Management Plan. The Grand Park Emergency Management Plan is made available on the Grand Park website or by request a copy may be provided by the Commission. In the event of inclement weather, the Commission will retain final determination as to the ability of the facility to support the Event. a. If the facility is unable to support the event due to an "Act of God" the Commission will not provide a refund or credit to the User. User may obtain event insurance through a vendor of their choosing to cover the "Act of God" scenario. b. If the facility is deemed unable to support the event by the Commission, the Commission will work with the User to reschedule such activity as was affected by the facility closure. In such case that the activity may not be rescheduled, Commission will credit the User for such activity as was affected by the closure and allow the credit to be utilized toward a future event. c. If the facility is deemed unable to support the event by the User, the Commission will work with the User to reschedule such activity as was affected within the general time constraints of the User's Event. In such case that the activity may not be rescheduled, Commission will not credit the User.

  • Interconnection Customer Compensation for Actions During Emergency Condition The CAISO shall compensate the Interconnection Customer in accordance with the CAISO Tariff for its provision of real and reactive power and other Emergency Condition services that the Interconnection Customer provides to support the CAISO Controlled Grid during an Emergency Condition in accordance with Article 11.6.

  • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. It is vital and imperative that the majority of citizens are protected from any emergency situation which threatens public health and safety, as determined by the County. Contractor agrees to rent/sell/lease all goods and services to the County or other governmental entities as opposed to a private citizen, on a first priority basis. The County expects to pay contractual prices for all goods or services required during an emergency situation. Contractor shall furnish a twenty-four (24) hour phone number in the event of such an emergency.

  • Limited Liability in Emergency Conditions Except as otherwise provided in the Tariff or the Operating Agreement, no Interconnection Party shall be liable to any other Interconnection Party for any action that it takes in responding to an Emergency Condition, so long as such action is made in good faith, is consistent with Good Utility Practice and is not contrary to the directives of the Transmission Provider or of the Interconnected Transmission Owner with respect to such Emergency Condition. Notwithstanding the above, Interconnection Customer shall be liable in the event that it fails to comply with any instructions of Transmission Provider or the Interconnected Transmission Owner related to an Emergency Condition.

  • Emergency Conditions “Emergency Condition” shall mean a condition or situation: (1) that in the judgment of the Party making the claim is imminently likely to endanger life or property; or (2) that, in the case of the Transmission Provider, is imminently likely (as determined in a non-discriminatory manner) to cause a material adverse effect on the security of, or damage to the Transmission System, the Transmission Owner’s Interconnection Facilities or the Transmission Systems of others to which the Transmission System is directly connected; or (3) that, in the case of the Interconnection Customer, is imminently likely (as determined in a non-discriminatory manner) to cause a material adverse effect on the security of, or damage to, the Small Generating Facility or the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities. Under Emergency Conditions, the Transmission Owner may immediately suspend interconnection service and temporarily disconnect the Small Generating Facility. The Transmission Provider shall notify the Interconnection Customer promptly when it becomes aware of an Emergency Condition that may reasonably be expected to affect the Interconnection Customer’s operation of the Small Generating Facility. The Interconnection Customer shall notify the Transmission Provider promptly when it becomes aware of an Emergency Condition that may reasonably be expected to affect the Transmission Owner’s Transmission System or other Affected Systems. To the extent information is known, the notification shall describe the Emergency Condition, the extent of the damage or deficiency, the expected effect on the operation of both Parties’ facilities and operations, its anticipated duration, and the necessary corrective action.
