Initial Placement on Salary Grid. (a) Initial placement on the salary grid is determined by the category assigned by the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) and years of previous teaching experience. Where a teacher is not able or not eligible to access the TQS, the Society, based on the evidence provided by the teacher, will determine the appropriate placement on the salary grid in accordance with the TQS criteria and requirements for each category. The rationale for the placement will be made available to the teacher.
