Junction Switching. 25.1 Through freight rates on the basis of 12-1/2 miles per hour will be paid train service employees in through freight service for all time occupied in switching at junction points, and this time will be paid in addition to pay for trip. Such time will be deducted in computing overtime for the trip, and this switching will not be regarded as constituting switching at an intermediate point under article 26.
Junction Switching. Trainmen required to set off, switch or pick up at Canadian Pacific Junction points will be paid on the basis of 20 miles per hour at passenger rates from the time of arrival until departure of the train. If picking up or setting out a diesel unit or units is the only service performed the provisions of this clause will not apply. The term "unit or units" mean a unit or units that were operated or are to be operated by the engineer on the run on which the service is performed. At stations where the actual junction point is within 2 miles of the outer switches, payment for junction switching will be allowed. Time so paid for will be deducted in computing overtime.
