KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION. Knowledge translation (KT) is getting the right information to the right people in the right format at the right time so they use it to make decisions and change their behaviours. It is an active process of synthesizing, disseminating, exchanging and applying knowledge to improve outcomes. It can include the development of knowledge products, knowledge dissemination (e.g. presenting a new resource at a conference) and knowledge implementation (e.g. establishing a practice change in a health care setting). Planning for KT will help clarify your project’s activities, outputs, outcomes and budget. If KT is an integral component of your project, then it should be embedded in your planning documents: work plan, budget and performance measurement tools. Make sure to clearly describe the target groups, both direct and indirect, and how they will be reached. Tip For additional information, you can request the Knowledge Translation (KT) Planner from your HC contact at XX.XXXXxxxxxx-XxxxxxxxxXXX.XX@xxxxxx.xx.
