Chief Investigator. Continuation of funding for a grant is dependent on the continuing tenure of the Chief Investigator/s. In the event that a Chief Investigator ceases to hold that position, You may seek the approval of VicHealth for the appointment of a replacement Chief Investigator. VicHealth may grant or refuse such approval in its discretion. If VicHealth refuses approval, VicHealth may terminate this Grant Agreement under 4 below.

Chief Investigator. The person who takes overall responsibility for the design, conduct and reporting of the Study; or if a Multi-Site Study, the person who takes primary responsibility for the design, conduct and reporting of the entire Multi-Site Study, whether or not the person is an investigator at any particular site.
Chief Investigator. The University appoints as its Chief Investigator the person named in item 7 of the Details Schedule or if no person is named in the Details Schedule, the person notified by the University to the Collaborator in writing. The University must ensure that the Chief Investigator: is suitably experienced to act as Chief Investigator; manages the day to day conduct of those tasks allocated to the University in the Project Plan; and maintains full and accurate records of the performance of the Project. Except where required otherwise under clause 7.2, the University may replace the Chief Investigator by giving written notice to the Collaborator. The University must ensure that the replacement Chief Investigator is suitably experienced to act as Chief Investigator. The Chief Investigator will have no power to agree to vary the Project Plan or the terms of this Agreement and must refer any variations to the responsible persons appointed by each party to approve any such variations in accordance with clause 24.6. Key Personnel Each party must: undertake the Project or any part of the Project to which its particular expertise relates, with the active involvement of, and using the expertise of, its Key Personnel; not replace any Key Personnel without the prior written approval of the other party, which will not be unreasonably withheld; and except if clause 7.2(b) applies, before replacing any Key Person, give the other party at least 20 Business Days prior written notice and provide information about the proposed replacement and any other implications that are likely to result from the replacement of its Key Person. If a Key Person is unable to perform the Project in connection with this Agreement due to: ill health or incapacity; or that person having left the employ of a party (including if the person's employment with a party has been terminated for cause), the party must give the other party as much notice as possible and provide information about the proposed replacement and any other implications that are likely to result from the removal or replacement of its Key Person. A party (the Requesting Party) may give a notice: directing the other party to immediately remove a Key Person from the Project, if the Key Person has breached the law or engaged in serious misconduct; and in any other case, requesting that the other party replace a Key Person, in which case: within 10 Business Days after receipt of the notice, the other party must investigate the reasons stat...
Chief Investigator. The CI shall have day to day control of the Study and shall conduct of the Study in accordance with the Protocol and the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If the CI is unable or unwilling to conduct the Study at any time, the Institution shall promptly notify Company and Institution and shall consult with Company as to the appointment of a replacement CI. If a suitable candidate to act as CI cannot be identified or agreed upon by both Parties, acting reasonably and without undue delay or a replacement CI cannot be recruited, all recruitment of Study Participants shall cease immediately and this Agreement shall be terminated in accordance with Clause 14.2.

Chief Investigator. 5.1.1 It is the responsibility of the Chief Investigator (CI), or a delegated individual e.g. the Trial Manager (TM), to liaise with the University of Aberdeen Business Development Officer (BDO) from the Research and Innovation (R&I) section, to arrange for the legal and administrative management of the Trial. 5.1.2 It is the CI’s responsibility to ensure that activities covered by Trial Agreements are not implemented until the relevant Trial agreements are executed and that any necessary regulatory or ethical approvals or amendments are in place. For Site Agreements, local recruitment to the trial may not proceed until relevant Research & Development (R&D) approval is granted for the site. 5.1.3 It is the responsibility of the CI to ensure that all contracted third parties or collaborators receive a copy of the approved Trial protocol and any subsequent amendments.
