Leachate Management Clause Samples
Leachate Management. The Manager shall be responsible for: • Obtaining contracts for the disposal of leachate. • Daily management of leachate tank volumes • Inspections of leachate storage tanks, manholes, pumps and secondary containment areas. • Recording hours of operation for pumps. • Maintaining, repairing and replacing pumps as necessary. • Testing leachate parameters and reporting. • Transportation of leachate from the landfills to the approved leachate disposal facility. • Discharge of leachate at approved disposal facility. • Clearing and cleaning leachate collection lines as necessary. • Payment for leachate disposal.
Leachate Management. Company shall implement, operate, and maintain a leachate management plan (the “Leachate Management Plan”) throughout the Term. The Leachate Management Plan shall be sufficient to store leachate for such period as may be required by VDEQ. Under no circumstances shall Company allow untreated leachate to escape the Landfill areas into surrounding surface or ground waters.
Leachate Management. Company shall implement, operate, and maintain a leachate management system (the “Leachate Management System ”) throughout the Term. The Leachate Management System shall be sufficient to test water quality parameters for the presence of leachate on a continuous basis. The Leachate Management System shall be sufficient to store leachate for up to sixty (60) days, or such longer period as may be required by VDEQ or applicable Governmental Requirements. Under no circumstances shall Company allow untreated leachate to escape the Landfill areas into surrounding surface or ground waters.
Leachate Management. Due to the dry nature of the waste material no leachate will be produced as a result of the waste itself. Leachate will come about only as a result of rainwater permeating through the landfill. It is estimated, based on the annual average rainfall and the expected run-off, that the leachate production from the site will be approximately 19,500 m3/a. The landfill consists of predominantly untreated raw wood chips from harvested trees. The characteristics of the rainfall leachate will be typical of wood waste landfills, consisting of tannins, lignins, phenols, resins, fatty acids and terpenes. This is in keeping with the constituents of rainfall that has percolated through forest floor matter and is therefore similar to soakage to ground from the surrounding land use (exotic forestry). Therefore, due to the nature of the leachate from the landfill, no leachate management or treatment facilities will be implemented.
Leachate Management. Leachate collection and treatment systems shall be properly managed and maintained throughout the life of the site. All leachate which would be harmful if discharged into the surrounding environment shall be treated to remove contaminants. Leachate must be tested prior to discharge. The discharge standards for all liquid effluent will be related to the background water quality in the receiving water, identified current and projected uses of the receiving water and the Canadian Water Quality Guidelines for the protection of these defined water uses and the “Environmental Control Water and Sewage Regulation, 2003”. Additionally, liquid effluents shall not be acutely lethal as determined by the suite of biological Test Methods developed by Environment Canada for this purpose. The parameters to be analyzed and frequency sampled shall be determined by a suitably Qualified Professional and outlined in the Environmental Monitoring Plan. Appendix D offers a minimum guide for leachate analysis parameters. Contingency plans in the event of problems with any part of the system shall be in place along with maintenance program.
Leachate Management. Company shall implement, operate, and maintain a leachate leak detection system, a leachate management system, and the Leachate Storage Facility at the Landfill. The leachate detection system the Leachate Management System throughout the Term. The Leachate Management System shall be sufficient to test water quality parameters for the presence of leachate on a continuous basis. The Leachate Storage Facility Management System shall be sufficient to store leachate for up to ninety sixty (9060) days, or such longer period as may be required by VDEQ or applicable LawGovernmental Requirements. Under no circumstances shall Company allow untreated leachate to escape the Landfill areas into surrounding surface or ground waters.

Leachate Management. Subject to the Permit and other requirements of VDEQ, the Company shall implement, operate, and maintain a leachate management system. The Leachate Storage Facility shall be sufficient to store leachate for such period as may be required by VDEQ or applicable Governmental Requirements. Under no circumstances shall Company allow untreated leachate to escape the Landfill areas into surrounding surface or ground waters.
