Leave for Union Officers. Any permanent employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union, or anybody with whom the Union is affiliated or elected to public office, shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority, by the Board, for a period up to two (2) years. The Board may renew such leave on a yearly basis. On return from leave, the employee will be placed in their previous position, or if the previous position does not exist the procedure found in Article 12.02 as applicable will be followed. Such leave will be at no cost to the Board. The employee shall have the option of maintaining the benefits if he/she pays for the premiums.
