Incremental Credit. Courses and/or workshops sponsored by the Somerset School Districts will be offered to all staff without requiring prior approval of the Superintendent. These courses/workshops will be eligible for staff to use for incremental credit. The ratio is as follows: fifteen (15) contact hours = one (1) incremental credit. PDP’s will also be administered with one (1) clock hour = one (1) PDP. Courses/workshops flyers will be posted in all buildings clearly identifying the contact hours, number of incremental credit, and PDP’s.
Incremental CreditAnnual increments are effective on the first of the month following the completion of the equivalent of one year of full time service with pay. Ten months of full time service with this Employer shall constitute a year for incremental purposes. Part-time employees shall have their days of service prorated on the basis of one year of full time service as per the following formula: The number of hours constituting one year for increment purposes shall be seven and one-third (7 1/3) hours multiplied by the number of working days plus statutory and special holidays within the school year.
Incremental Credit. Following initial placement in a pay classification, incremental credit will be granted on the following basis: i) The number of hours constituting one (1) year for increment purposes shall be six (6) multiplied by the number of working days set in Article 14.01 plus the nine (9) statutory holidays within the school year. ii) Employees who are employed less than thirty (30) hours per week shall have their service pro-rated and recognized for incremental credit on the same basis as full-time employees. If an employee’s initial employment contract is for a probationary position, initial placement will be Step 1 of the salary grid. Increments will be effective the first of the next pay period following completion of one (1) year of service.

An NCHD who takes up appointment as a Senior House Officer having previously held a Registrar post will be placed on the equivalent point of the SHO salary scale. Periods spent in vocational training schemes for general practice are reckonable for incremental credit. Locum NCHDs shall be granted incremental credit on the basis of previous recognised hospital experience. An NCHD who was employed in an EU Member State will be granted incremental credit for such experience. In such cases, incremental credit will be evaluated on the basis of the NCHD’s date of registration to practise as a doctor and subsequent experience. An NCHD who was employed in a state (other than an EU member state) prior to taking up appointment in Ireland may be granted incremental credit where the experience was obtained in a recognised teaching hospital.
