Leave of Absence for Full-time Association Representative. (a) An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Association, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of one (1) year. Such leave shall be renewed for a maximum of one (1) year upon request during his/her term of office. Leave under this Clause shall only be provided if a suitable employee, as assessed by the Employer, is available.

Leave of Absence for Full-time Association Representative. An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Association, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of one (1) year. Leave under this Clause shall only be provided if a suitable employee, as assessed by the Employer, is available. During the period of such leave of absence, provided the insurance and pension plans permit, the employee shall be permitted to participate in these plans at no cost to the Employer. During this period of leave of absence, the employee shall retain all accrued benefits but shall not earn any benefits during such leave.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Employee Who Acts as Representative Where an employee wishes to represent at a meeting with the Employer, an employee who has presented a grievance, the Employer will, where operational requirements permit, grant leave with pay to the representative when the meeting is held in the headquarters area of such employee and leave without pay when the meeting is held outside the headquarters area of such employee.

  • Full-Time Union Leave Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Company will grant leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union position. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Seniority and service shall accumulate during the full term of such leave.

  • Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.
